NIRF 2025 Open University Rankings are out. IGNOU secures Rank 1, followed by Karnataka State Open University at Rank 2 and UPRTOU at Rank 3.

NIRF 2025 Open University Rankings Released

On September 5, 2025, the Ministry of Education released NIRF 2025 rankings. IGNOU secures Rank 1 among the Open Universities in India. Alongside the Open University list, the NIRF 2025 covered 16 categories, including Overall, Universities, Colleges, Engineering, Management, Medical, Law, Dental, Pharmacy, Architecture, Agriculture, Innovation, and SDG-based rankings.

NIRF 2025 Open University Rankings

In the NIRF 2025 Open University rankings:

IGNOU (New Delhi) continued to be ranked first and maintained its leadership in distance and online education.
KSOU (Mysore) entered the list this year and took second rank from last year's rank holder, Netaji Subhas Open University.
UPRTOU (Prayagraj) took Rank 3 and improved all the way from last year, as it took the spot of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University this year.
