- Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
- Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
- The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.
Dislikes
- We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
- I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
- There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

From 7 semester students can participate in campus placement here multinational companies like microsoft, nvidia, samsung,jp morgon,Wells Fargo many companies recruit students highest package is 58 lakh per annum offers by DE shaw and total percentage placement is 78

Placement Experience:
The college provides a good placement for the CSE program. The college has a record of 100% placements and the college placement committee plays a very important role in it. The college placement committee is successful in inviting good companies and helping us in every round and making sure that we are placed with a good package. The highest package for my batch was approx 38 LPA and the average package was around 12 LPA.

Remarks:
Nit Durgapur is an old premier institute of engineering. Facilities at NIT Durgapur is awesome in comparison to any other College. NIT DURGAPUR has collaborated with many international institutions for research and development. It is carrying out many numbers of research. Nit Durgapur set up their own ambu ventilator manufacturing facility during pandemic.

Remarks:
I thought of doing my M.Tech in IIT's or NIT's so due to low score I have only chance of NIT. So when I got Thermal Engineering in National Institute of Technology, Durgapur I accepted it without any second thought.

Ranked one of the top 10 NITs in India,
Ranked under 50 in NIRF Ranked Colleges/Universities in India,
Campus having good infrastructure with well decent equipped labs,
Optimum Hostel and mess fee around ??_15000/- Per Semester.

Professors are very supportive. I opted this course because I am interested in higher studies. For BTech degree this college is good because their placement statistics are good. For those who want Mtech from CSE this is good college.

Remarks:
Because here the faculty is highily qualified to teach and cirrculum is also good enough. This college provide good campus life as it is fully residential. Thermal branch will give the solutions to many problems like alternating renewable energy to replace fossil fuels and provide comfortable life for humans by inventing AC and other equipments

Remarks:
According to my score it was good at that time.I got some other colleges during before rounds but they are not better than this college. As I have done my undergraduate course on electronics and communication engineering I have opted MICROELECTRONICS AND VLSI for my specialization to excel in it and enhance my field in the design of electronic circuits

Entrance Preview:
I was admitted in NIT-D in M. Tech Thermal Engg. after qualifying GATE.The cutoff are a follow (appx.)General- 650, SC/ST- 400+, OBC- 560+
I opted for NIT-D becoz placement here are appreciable in Mechanical Engg. as compared to other colleges.

Gate 2006 and I got 595 all India rank. Physics is the core subject in Gate. In MTech Advanced Materials Science and Technology is the branch in NIT Durgapur. Admission is based on Gate and interview. Interview will be based on the Physics at Bsc and Msc level.

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur
- Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
- Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
- Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
- Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
- Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
- Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
- Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
Overall, NIT Durgapur is a great place if you are unable to make it to IITs.
