NLU Lucknow Important dates FAQs
Ques. When are counselling rounds and seat allotment dates announced?
Ans. Counselling and seat allotment dates are announced shortly after the declaration of CLAT results. These are conducted in multiple rounds to accommodate seat availability, withdrawals, and upgrades. Each round has a defined schedule that includes deadlines for accepting the seat, paying the required fees, and completing document verification. Missing any of these dates may result in cancellation of the allotted seat.
Ques. What is the significance of fee payment deadlines during counselling?
Ans. Fee payment deadlines play a crucial role in confirming admission. Once a seat is allotted, candidates must pay the prescribed fee within the specified time frame to retain the seat. Failure to meet this deadline is generally treated as a withdrawal, and the seat is offered to the next eligible candidate in subsequent counselling rounds.

NLU Lucknow Cutoff FAQs
Ques. How competitive is Lucknow compared to other NLUs in terms of cutoffs?
Ans. Lucknow’s cutoff is moderately high. For general category candidates in recent cycles, top NLUs like NLSIU Bengaluru and NALSAR Hyderabad have closed around the top 100–150 ranks, while RMLNLU Lucknow has closed around the 700–800 rank range. This makes Lucknow more accessible than the very elite NLUs but more competitive than many newer or lower-demand NLUs, balancing quality with attainability. Cutoffs can vary each year and across counselling rounds based on seat availability and candidate performance.
Ques. Can cutoffs be updated after counselling begins?
Ans. Yes, cutoffs are not fixed once counselling starts and may be revised after each round. This happens because some candidates accept seats, others withdraw, and some request upgradation to preferred programmes, which affects seat availability and demand. As a result, the closing rank or score for a programme may change slightly in subsequent rounds. Candidates are strongly advised to monitor official counselling notifications and updated merit lists regularly to stay informed about any changes in cutoffs, ensuring they make timely decisions for seat confirmation or upgradation.
