SRIHER B.Sc. Clinical Research FAQs
Ques. What exactly is clinical research and why should I pursue B.Sc. Clinical Research at SRIHER?
Ans. Clinical research is the branch of science that systematically determines the safety and effectiveness of medications, devices, diagnostic products, and treatment regimens in human subjects. B.Sc. Clinical Research at SRIHER is one of the few UG-level clinical research programmes in India offered within a live clinical research environment - SRIHER's own Clinical Research Division conducts active clinical trials across multiple medical specialties. This gives students direct exposure to real-world clinical trials, which is rare at the undergraduate level. The programme is ideal for students interested in the pharmaceutical industry, CROs, drug development, or healthcare research.
Ques. What is the difference between B.Sc. Clinical Research and B.Sc. Biotechnology or B.Sc. Life Sciences?
Ans. B.Sc. Clinical Research is specifically focused on the clinical trial process - study design, regulatory compliance, GCP, data management, pharmacovigilance, and ethics in human research. It is more applied and industry-oriented compared to B.Sc. Biotechnology (which focuses on laboratory science and molecular biology) or B.Sc. Life Sciences (which is broader and more theoretical). Clinical research graduates are directly employable in CROs, pharma companies, and hospitals as clinical research associates, data coordinators, or regulatory affairs executives.
Ques. What are the career options after B.Sc. Clinical Research from SRIHER?
Ans. Graduates can work as Clinical Research Associates (CRAs), Clinical Data Coordinators, Regulatory Affairs Executives, Pharmacovigilance Associates, or Medical Writers at CROs, pharmaceutical companies, and hospitals. For higher-level roles, pursuing M.Sc. Clinical Research (offered by SRIHER itself) or an MBA in Pharmaceutical Management is recommended. SRIHER alumni have been placed at ICON Plc., Pfizer, Novo Nordisk, Zifo RnD, and Navya Care, and have also pursued Masters programmes at the University of Milan (Italy) and within SRIHER.
Ques. Is the B.Sc. Clinical Research programme at SRIHER recognised? What is the scope in India?
Ans. Yes, the programme is offered by SRIHER, a NAAC A++ accredited Category-I Deemed University recognised by the UGC. The clinical research industry in India is growing rapidly, with India being one of the top destinations for global clinical trials due to its large patient population and cost advantages. The demand for trained clinical research professionals is high, and a degree from SRIHER - with its active clinical trials division and industry connections - carries strong credibility with employers.
Ques. What is the total fee and is there any scholarship available for B.Sc. Clinical Research at SRIHER?
Ans. The total tuition fee is Rs. 2,25,000 for the 3-year programme (Rs. 75,000 per year). This is one of the most affordable clinical research programmes in India. The Founder-Chancellor Merit-cum-Means Scholarship of up to Rs. 50,000 per year is available from the 2nd year for students with good academic performance and financial need. Government scholarships (state and central) are also available for eligible students. The total cost including hostel over 3 years would be approximately Rs. 5,25,000 to Rs. 6,40,000.
Ques. Can I pursue M.Sc. Clinical Research at SRIHER after completing B.Sc. Clinical Research?
Ans. Yes, SRIHER offers M.Sc. Clinical Research (2 years) and M.Sc. Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology (2 years) at the postgraduate level under the same Faculty of Clinical Research. The M.Sc. Clinical Research programme at SRIHER has a 100% placement record, with alumni placed at ICON Plc., Navya Care, and other leading organisations. Pursuing the M.Sc. at SRIHER after the B.Sc. is a natural and well-supported progression, and students benefit from continuity of faculty mentorship and research exposure.
