There are many institute scholarships like merit cum means etc. Loans are being provided by the state bank of india, institute branch. Generally I have seen people taking Rs 1.5 lack lone.

IIT Madras B.Tech. CSE (Computer Science Engineering) is considered as the best B.Tech. specialisation. This is due to:

B.Tech. CSE has highest cutoff rank around 144-148 which shows its popularity among other branches and higher competition.
Most of the placements in IIT Madras are conducted from the B.Tech. CSE Specialisation.
