Sikkim University PhD Admissions 2023 will begin soon. Admission is based on performance in written test and personal interview. Sikkim University offers Ph.D. programs in the departments of Human Sciences, Languages and Literature, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Professional Studies and Social Sciences. In total, 28 different specializations are offered. The duration of the course is 3 years, divided into 6 semesters. Candidates must hold a Masters degree in a relevant discipline in order to be eligible to apply for the programs.

Sikkim University Ph.D Eligibility criteria 

Candidates must have done a post-graduation degree in the relevant discipline with 55% marks (50% for reserved category students) in aggregate from any recognized University or Institute.

Selection criteria

Merit list is prepared considering performance in written test and interview. 

  • The test will be of 70 marks and the interview of 30 marks. 
  • 50 % marks are needed in the written test to qualify and be considered for interview (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD) 
  • 10% weightage of the test will be given to candidates with NET/CSIR NET/JRF/ICAR NET/ ICMR NET/DBT NET/SLET/GATE/Teacher fellowship/ M.Phil. degree.

  3. The following documents must be uploaded

  1. Application fee of INR 600 for GEN/OBC/EWS and INR 300 for SC/ST/PwD must be paid online by Debit card/ Credit card/ net banking.
  2. Based on marks in qualifying degree, candidates will be shortlisted for written test conducted by respective department.
  3. Following this, candidates will be invited for an interview based on performance in written test.
  4. Merit list will be published on the official website http://www.cus.ac.in/index.php/en/
  5. Successful candidates can proceed for admission at the university.
