The admission process for the Master of Arts (Political Science) at Sikkim University requires candidates to undertake the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), conducted annually. Once the test is cleared, candidates can apply, and seats are allocated based on the marks obtained. The previous year's cutoff was set at 130 marks. Being a central university, Sikkim University offers an inclusive educational environment and maintains lower fees compared to many other institutions.
Located conveniently for students residing in and near Sikkim, it attracts candidates who prefer proximity to home. Despite the wider options available, including institutions like JNU and various Central Universities across India, the centralized location and accessibility make Sikkim University a favorable choice for many. Admissions are competitive, as candidates must secure decent scores in the CUET to gain access. There is no direct or management quota admission pathway mentioned, emphasizing the importance of entrance scores for eligibility.
The institution supports a diverse student body and prioritizes equitable treatment, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all enrollees.
