The university has established a health care center that has facilities like OPD, an in-house facility covering basic medicine and first-aid, ambulance, on-call medical officer and support staff, and health advisors are issued from time to time. The University has 2 Girls hostels and 2 Boys hostels with facilities like Wi-Fi, beds, mattresses, study table, a chair, an almirah, 24x7 water and electricity supply, a housekeeping facility, hygienic food, and a common Room with a TV facility. The library is ergonomically designed with elegant modern furniture and is well equipped with over 36,606 titles and subscribes to 71 journals, and 9507 full-text E-journals and has access to various digital libraries, and educational societies. The library is fully airconditioned and has Wi-Fi connectivity to provide the option to work with both online and offline resources. Well-equipped fully airconditioned gyms are provided for all students for their health needs and fitness. A bus facility is provided for staff and students for commuting. It would be interesting to know that the university has a museum that houses a vast collection of historical and archaeological exhibits. The university has walking trails around the campus. Other facilities include a Badminton court, Table Tennis court, Outdoor Volleyball, running track, football ground, cricket ground and basketball court. The University is encouraging the students to earn while learning by taking up part-time jobs at the University itself.

The School of language, literature, and culture at Central University of Punjab offers MA with different language specializations such as MA English, MA Hindi, and MA Punjabi. The eligibility to apply for this course is a Bachelors degree with at least 50% marks {45% in case of SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PWD} in aggregate with at least 50% marks {45% in case of SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PWD} in English/Hindi/Punjabi respectively from a recognized Indian or foreign University.

What are the scholarships offered by CUP?

The university provides financial aid to the students by providing scholarships. University and the state-wise scholarship for top 3 rankers are rewarded INR 3000 deduction in the fees. The university also has a scheme for all students called Earn While You Learn, where students are provided various jobs in the university for which they are provided INR 100 and students would be permitted to work for 50 hours/month and this ceiling on working hour is stipulated that the jobs are not pursued at the cost of study. M.Phil and Ph.D. students are provided Fellowship of INR 5000 and INR 8000 per month respectively. Further working contingencies of INR 8000 and INR 10,000 per annum are offered to Humanities and Science students respectively. Through the Travel Grant Scheme, teachers, scholars, and officers shall be permitted to avail of this financial assistance scheme once a year. TA/DA as per university rules and registration fee, subject to a maximum of Rs. 10,000/- shall be paid to the eligible teachers, scholars, and officers under this scheme.

The new upcoming Central University

Likes

The teachers are friendlier here and you can go them with any problem
In this University offices of Registrar and VC is open so if you are facing any issue just barge right in and they will do the best yo solve it
This is research based university, so the main focus is on research and there is no care about other things

Dislikes

The mess food is not that great, first of all there is divide among the mess comittee of both floors and it is entrenched in internal politics
The Hostel here are packed like you feel like you are packed in a can of sardines
The social structure is kinda bad as people tend to become one dimensioned here with there folks from same state

Admission:

This University is fairly new so it is still in the making ad it is still being constructed, so I would've preferred an established university, though to get addmission here in this University there are three methods, 1. Through GATE 2. Through CUET 3. Direct through Recommendation

Likes

Environment of University was amazing. All the students respect each others and specially the seniors are very helpfull there. You can learn a lot of things there.
The best thing about cupb is there are a lot students are from south part of india.
If you want to learn about different different parts of india then you should go to cupb.

Dislikes

There are not such things that we can dislike. University is totally new so the shops are very less there.
If you have to buy things you have to go outside the campus .
And sometimes you have to go bathinda to buys things.

Admission:

After passing entrance exam i have many choices even i have choice between DU and cupb. But i selected CUPB because of faculty and course structure. I have gone through all these things and then i opted for the CUPB.

Life in CUP

Likes

It's peaceful. Hostel and campus are clean
I don't interact that much. I don't like social interaction that much. campus life is good.
My supervisor is very hardworking. He guides the students with patience, and he teach us every little detail.

Dislikes

In the hostel there is not a common washing machine. Grocery shop is very far away. The mobile network is not good.

Admission:

There is not that much reason. there is only one reason I applied in this university because I did my LLM from this university so the environment was familiar and the faculty so I applied here because its convinient

Academically university is very good especially our department- Geology. In our department boys and girls are equal ratio but total college take girsl ratio is high
It is very useful to interact other states students . Actually it is good for improving our social life and it will change our perspectives also
The faculties are are friendly and very approachable . We can share everything at every time .

Dislikes

The infrastructure is very poor, and library service also very poor. Because there is no much space for every students only very less space there.
So many students stay outside so hostel also there have less space for students.
Most of the long lectures happen from 10am to 8 pm it is very stressful and discusting. We don’t have enough time to get for other stuffs.

Admission:

The eligibility of to get admission in this college is considered through cuet exams it is based on a particular syllabus to all subject. It also relative ranking there is no cutoff marks it is ralative. And l choose this college because it is a central university we get more exposure on subjects and we can interact with other state peoples that is also good one . Also for my subject this university is one of the good department among india. For my department geology course we get 15 days field trip under the guidance of most valuable persons like dr Chauhan sir and etc . That is good for us and future

They must provide more samples and other facilities to the students.

Admission:

I applied in BHU and PONDICHERR but the cutoff mark was too high . Then i got here . When i enquired about this college everyone said the college is good because of their best and experienced facultues.

Wonderful land with positives and negatives

Likes

The main thing is the faculty, they all are very good and helping. They even understand our problems and I can ask even a single doubt to them as they don't see us a msc student.
The next thing is that the clean environment in the campus. The workers will clean the building and every places neatly every time.
The hostel room, I like and from the balcony, it provide good view. As I am a malayali, I can now understand different regional languages and Hindi little bit

Dislikes

The hostel bathrooms are not that much clean and it doesn't have the necessary items that we need in a toilet.
Even though the faculty is helping, some teachers are just putting ppt to complete their part before exams.
The climate is very hard to survive. Here in June and July, experience the most hot climate, while in December, January, february period experience heavy winter and that's in time of exams.

Admission:

I have applied in Pondicherry University but as I was in general I will not get and cutoff was also higher. First I applied in the CUPB and first I got here. So I opt this. And also I was curious about how is Punjab and the other near places. Also I need to learn Hindi. The admission procedure was very nice but hostel make me run and run to many wardens.

A short review about Central University of Punjab

Likes

The labs are highly facilitated with high level equipments
Library and computer center facilities is too good,
Professors are highly educated witj PHd and their research labs in the University is high-tech with all the equipments, and their research topic are highly relevent ones.

Dislikes

Infrastructure of University is need to Improve
Labs are very conjusted with high facilities. So need to improve the space.

Admission:

I got admission in Central University of kerala for Msc genomic. But i cancelled and selected thia university because this course Msc Molecular Medicine. This course is only provided by this university.

Truth about university

Likes

My university has a good atmosphere for studies. Teachers are so dedicated in their teaching.
University is providing high facilities like medical Center, library
People here are of very friendly in nature.

Dislikes

The water provided here is not good for it, even though it is a purified one
Academic stress is there. We have to do a lot of work in a single day
Somedays we have to sit on class upto 8:30 pm, it feels stress.

Admission:

I applied po dicherry university for applied geology. It was a renowned university. I always wished to study there. But first i got admission here. So i entered this university. But this is also a good university. This university also provides us basic facilities.

Likes

Proffesors are so good and teaching is good,
Campus have lot of e rickshaw so the transortation at a time anywhere will be just 5-10
Animal friendly atmosphere and dogs are so nice here

Dislikes

The weather here in punjab is so bad extreme heat and cold
Food may be iam from kerala and of havibg different cuisine
Classtime is actually 9-5 and sometimes its more than that like classses till 7 and more

Admission:

I aplied to pondicherry and this punjab since iam more into research and i liked palaeomagnetism which was only here i chose this college Eligibility andd admission processes are very simple Uu clear cuet and on the basis of the score u get admitted u should ahave a score above 150/300 to get admitted here and admission u will het notifies by the email sysytem its very well maintained

Second,here seniors are too good as per my my expectations
And staf and professor are too good and very helping nature and available at any time

Infrastructure is not to much better as per university and

I have applied in other colleges but I did not got it for my low marks in my entrance test .in my university medium is English.If any want admission in my course,they must have NCET for addmission and you got selected college and university.
