Scholarships were available to students who scored first few ranks in the entrance exams, which were a great deal of help to them also, there are internships available through our mentors which is of great help.
Faculty are very good they teach well and they are very experienced with experience of 20 years, and fests happens every month and facilities are very good here like gym gardens library etc and place is very good
There are so many clubs like dance club, science club, maths club, etc and main beauty of the campus are very green and freedom of entry and exit anytime.

Dislikes

Firstly conduction of the entrance was very poor by nta.
At last the canteens. the foods of the canteens are ok but sometimes it too worst
I had a plan to do phd too but due to the academic stress and low facilities that this university is providing, i started to lose my interest on the subject.

I like the campus and the events that happen here
Like the way different state people get along nicely

Dislikes

The weather is too hot.. literally too much to bear
Some teaching methods of the lecturers so need a change

I have done my ug in genetics so I took this course as it matched with the syllabus of csir net If studied properly and concepts are clear then it would really help to crack the entrance Prepare your notes thoroughly and study properly And if you fail in any subject then you would get the project that is provided by the department

Life in Pondicherry University

Likes

The greenary campus will give peaceful environment
Easily accessible library which is open all day.
The whole campus is connected to high speed wi-fi facility.

Dislikes

The food in the cafeteria is slightly not so good.
The distance from the hostel to classroom is quite long.
Transportation inside the campus is not very well and usually crowded.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus is designed with plan to cover wide techniques and day to day update. It is useful in clearing csir-net exam. Frequency of exam is moderate and it will be difficult for last minute preparation. Teaching methods are advanced and well equiped laboratory are there.

My pov about PU

Likes

I was much overwhelmed by the beauty of my campus.
They provide transportation facilities according to the timings.
Much freedom is alloted to students who seeks for solace within the campus.

Dislikes

The locality of the campus is very much annoying
The people often do stare without any reason
Meal provided by the Mess is not appreciated

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course which I chose had a lot of relevance in the filed of evolving man health. Also the soft courses provided by the department was fabulous. Teachers and Lab facilities are also well equipped. The difficulty of the exams corresponds to the way one should improve themselves.

Good but don't expect more

Ambience which the university has is good
Night life : University is more beautiful at night
Surrounding beach : it will give the refreshments when we are stressed

Dislikes

Academics: The stress they give is more than a student can afford
Low infrastructure of buildings and less lab facilities
Low network connection and wifi connection

I personally chose this subject to continue my graduation topics . I had a plan to do phd too But due to the academic stress and low facilities that this University is providing, I started to lose my interest on the subject. Professors are of high quality and they have much knowledge, but when it comes to teaching field , some of them fails .They doesn't know how to teach

Overwhelming curriculum which influenced my decision to join this university. I hope this would give me confidence to clear competitive exam. Quality of staff is good but the way of teaching should be better. Exam was good enough but correction more strict.

Pondicherry University, should it be your choice?

Likes

The implementation of CBCS. You can choose any department course for elective papers.
Maximum Hostels are airy and comfortable.
The overall campus experience. The campus is beautiful, free, independent.

Dislikes

Poor food. It tastes very bad and has zero nutritional value.
Poor network connection in the campus. Even the WiFi doesn't work properly.
Excessive amount of pressure on students. University doesn't care about mental health of students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In Pondicherry University MSc Mathematics course the curriculum is very much real mathematics based. And they put pressure on students to memorize the theorems rather than applying it. The exam pattern is okay. But marking system is a hell. 50 is passing mark! The teachers are well researched, but have doubtful teaching methods

Understanding of professors in all the departments
The time curfew is not there for anybody
The rooms of the hostel are good here in the campus

Likes

Infrastructure of the department, the labs , the classes and faculty
The happening campus life , with lot of activities to do.
The location of the university-, the opposite to the university is the beach.

Dislikes

The mess food which is average and have no variety
The compulsion to dine in the mess only for all students

Placement Experience:

There is placement in the campus, various companies visit the campus for placement, placement are more in management department and economics department. Particularly in Bioinformatics there is very less placement but it's there and some students get recruited for bioinformatics company and most of students prefer going for research so placement is not a concern

I Have complited my MBA from Distance in year 2021 but i received mu mark sheet and certificate with wrone name. Insted of my name they have put my father's name. So even after sending mails of like 26 times and sending DD of Rs 1100/- they have not done anything and there is no reply in mail and no one oiks up the call. I am so frustrated and loosing hope. I really dont know when this will be corrected..
