Things that I liked about the college is the exposure to huge number of opportunities in the legal field that comes along with the college life. NLUO provides vast exposure to scope of employability and internships in the legal field.
Another thing I liked about the college was the standard of legal education being imparted here. The comprehensive curriculum at NLUO provides an individual with ample of knowledge to establish oneself in the legal field.
Lastly, the student community at NLUO is very vibrant. The students are enthusiastic about committees, seminars and cultural programmes.
Placement Experience:
Students of NLUO primarily get placed in Law firms, Corporate Organisations and Policymaking Orgainsations.
Placements depend on the conditions of market economy. But every year, several Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 law firms recruit minimum 40 students at NLUO. If the market conditions are right the same can go up to 80. Further students also get placed from internships in addition to those in campus placements. Other students go for judicairy preparation, litigation and other competitive exams
I genuinely love the library of the college. It is so spacious, comfortable and has ACs all over the building. You can get books issued and issuing process is also very simple. Moreover, it is open 24*7, so it is like hostel room to the students.
Secondly, I like the facilities that are provided to the students like moot, arbitration and mediation etc.
There is a placement cell and internship committee that helps students to get internships and placements.
Dislikes
Not dislike, but I think the infrastructure can be improved to certain extent.
Placement Experience:
The placement opportunities are pretty good actually. Almost 35-40% of the students get placements and many others get pre placement offers. Even the average package is 10 lakhs per annum. Reputed companies like Indus Law, Trilegal, Khaitan visit the campus.
Green Campus - So NLUO is having big green Campus surrounded by Nature, gives fresh environment.
Amazing Library - So NLUO Library is one of the biggest law library in India.
Infrastructure is quite good and we don't have any curfew timing that we have to come back to hostel by this time, campus gate was closed after 10PM but hostel gates were open
Dislikes
Campus Location - It is located somewhat outskirts of city, it is well connected with public transport like buses and all but during night time somewhat scary.

Placement Experience:
Placement is quite ok in NLU Odisha, mainly company visit the campus during final year of student for placement. Many students secure Pre Placement offer while internship during their penultimate year or last year. I think average package will gone upto 7-8 Lakh per annum.
There's no ragging in the college and seniors are so helpful.
The security is too tight and nobody can dare to be physical with anyone as rules are very strict here.
Students are sent for moot competitions to various places and NLUO students have done well too.
Dislikes
Too rigorous as studies here are never ending and therefore taking time out for extra curricular activities is just not possible here.
Placement Experience:
As we enter out second last semester, the college gives us a list of the companies that stars coming. We can apply as long as we are not placed. Once placed though, we don't have an option to switch but various PPOs and top law firms are recruiters here. Average salary offered is 12 lakhs with highest going as far as 30 lakhs a year.
The faculties are very friendly and helpful, they not only guide us but give special attention to technique to write research papers and draft legal articles which hold heavy weight in one's CV. Specially the faculties of Criminal law ar the best.
The reputation and brand tag NLU's hold, this tag help in attaining legal internships and bring opportunities to learn under best legal minds of the country. They have a well planned academics and focus on prospective cases than retrospective cases
The campus is quite large and greenary is all around. The library is one of the biggest library and has separate compartment for each and every individual creating a peaceful environment
Dislikes
The attendance scheme is very strict, i.e 75% attendance is mandatory to sit for the exam
The academics is very vast and comprehensive, morning class evening committees lac of study life balance
The campus is quite far form the market and there is no proper transportation which makes things a bit difficult sometimes
Placement Experience:
The placement are good as per my knowledge and inside college discussions, and the students are eligible to sit for placement after completion of 4th semester of LL.B program and after 8 semester of 5 years BA LLB.
Mainly tier 1, tier 2 and tier 3 botique law firms come for recruitment and certain companies dealing in banking sector and mining sector come for in-house counsel recruitment.
Even is one does not get placed in companies and firms, the can apply in the offices of best legal minds of country and become associate in their chambers, they do pay well.
Placement rate as per previous years statistics is 68% approx
The campus life is quite lively. The college doesn't sleep.
Placement statistics are impressive. Every year there is an increase in students placd
There is no as such curfew timings in hostel.
Dislikes
The administration is not so student supportive.
A little burden of studies as there is only exam which is end sem exam per semester
The mess food is quite bad. It's just edible.

Placement Experience:
The Campus Placement is 2023 was quite impressive. Out of 80 students who participated in the Recruitment process 71 were placed. The highest package was 18 lakhs and the average package was 11.7 lakhs. Top-tier law firms like SAM, Luthra & Luthra, Trilegal recruits students from NLUO.
The location of the college, being in between two rivers and amidst nature
The people and the diverse crowds and the opportunity to connect with different people
The campus is huge with a lot of facilties and opportunities to play and spend idle time
Dislikes
the construction was slow which barred from availing the facilities for which we paid
the administration is slow to respond
the hostel facilities and the quality of food is not good and there is limit to the food consumed
Placement Experience:
Law colleges as such don't [provide placements in a holistic way like B-schools or engineering schools. Although there exist tie-ups with top tier firms especially when it is an NLU, and other banks and companies. Considering litigation exists many students don't opt for placements.
I choose this course because of my interest in law and the beautiful environment of the campus. The faculty in our university provides very insightful experiences of theirs from their university life and help us very well to go ahead with our studies. They also help us well with our research projects and publications if at we want to publish our papers. Our college faculty is always there to help students with their various endeavors.
The teaching method followed is through classroom discussion, guest lectures visiting our campus, and PowerPoint presentations.
NLUO has two semesters per year and we have both mid-semesters and end-semesters conducted every semester along with Internal Continous Evaluation.
The college has good placement options and the college also provides very good corporate opportunities but most of the batchmates preferred to opt for personal practice. Singh & Associates, Exigent Group LLP, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan, Fox Mondal, MNSA Legal are the names of that were the major recruiters of the college. The highest salary offer was around 10 LPa dn the average salary offer was around 5 LPA.
As it is nearest from my home. And it is the fastest growing nlu among other nlus. And it is located near naraj which is a beautiful place. It is the only nlu which is between two rivers. It's one side is river kathajodi and another is river mahanadi. Two rivers are only 1km distance from NLUO.
