The Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Finance at Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) offers a comprehensive education in finance. Admission is through the NPAT exam, which evaluates algebra, mathematics, logical reasoning, and English skills. Candidates need at least 50% in their 12th-grade exams, with mathematics or statistics as a subject. NMIMS, located in Mumbai, is preferred for its reputation and quality faculty, despite admission delays linked to the MHCET exam.
The course is available at the Navi Mumbai campus, with limited spots at the main Mumbai campus. The program costs INR 3.75 lakh annually, totaling up to INR 14.8 lakh for a four-year course with research components. Payment options include lump sum, half-yearly, or monthly EMIs, with refunds until the end of September. Scholarships are offered based on financial need, though accessibility can vary. Fees generally increase yearly and can differ between batches.
The faculty comprises experienced professionals, some with over 15 years in their fields, including Chartered Accountants teaching accountancy. The student-faculty ratio is balanced, with around 50-60 students per class. Faculty are supportive, receptive to feedback, and provide study materials. The curriculum is split into two semesters annually, with exams ranging from moderate to difficult. Placement prospects are strong, with final-year students eligible for campus placements. The highest package last year was INR 9 lakh, and 80-90% of students received offers between INR 4-10 lakh per annum.
Recruiters include top companies like Wipro, Microsoft, and Federal Bank. The college facilitates internships with firms such as PwC and KPMG, with a dedicated committee assisting in securing these opportunities. While psychology internships are usually unpaid, they offer experience in healthcare and education sectors.
