About GIPE
Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics - [GIPE] was established in 1930 by the Servants of India Society. GIPE is the oldest research and training institute in economics. The college offers UG, PG as well as PhD courses in economics and the political field. Admissions to all courses are entrance based. Candidates are required to appear for an entrance test for admissions B.Sc, MA, M.Sc and Ph.D courses. Candidates who qualify the entrance exam will then be called for an interview. Also, candidates who have obtained M.Phil Degree of a recognised university through regular and not distance mode and who have qualified at the UGC-NET (including JRF)/ SLET Teacher Fellowship holders will be exempted from institute’s entrance test though they still have to appear for interview.

The mode of application for admissions is online except for Ph.D courses. Below are the steps to be followed for application process:

- Register and login using login credentials.
- Fill in all the details in the application form.
- Upload all the documents in the prescribed format.

The application fee is submitted through online mode (Net banking/Debit Card/Credit Card). For Ph.D applications, the duly filled in application form should be submitted along with Demand Draft drawn in favor of Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, payable at Pune.

Admission:
The admission was through an entrace exam,I don't know about the cutt off,I got in the 1st list itself. The eligibility was you secure more than 60% in 12th standard.The details about this exam is found in their website called GIPE.There are certain amount of seats reserved for different categories,but tuition is same cross the line.The entrace examination is conducted once a year,it is a medium range exam and the course exams are really tough.I wish the admission was online and more detailed information could me provided.

- Staff are also good. Teaching or non teaching all are vey helpful.

- Campus size is little bit small as no ground are their.
- As their is little security issue. As college is open for all anyone can come and do whatever.

Admission was based on entrance exam It was taken by college itself at different centre in India. And the selection was based on different marks category. Reservation category was also applicable. Selection of course was by preferencial. So I choose Mac Economics as a course for myself.
Admission:
It is one of the top 10 colleges for Masters's in Economics in India. The course curriculum is very good. The city is very much pleasant and liveable. Hostel facilities and fees are very affordable. Placements are nice, teachers are friendly.

As mentioned, academics are very inclusive, ie ; it includes all important aspects which a financial economist should know: including micro and macro economics, accountancy, law, math, behavioural finance:

The curriculum was decent, need some updation and more of practical knowledge. Regular assignments were given so that we can learn more about the particular subject. The faculty over there are experts in their fields and know there subjects very well. You can learn a lot from them.

The education program looks fair. It's very much specific and targeted on the matter. There are activities like football, tennis and an annual day. College is mostly focused on sports. There are physiological test and a lot of seminars essay writing competitions.
Admission:
Being one of the premier institute of india gipe is special in itself. It is the only institute where the first agriculture survey of india was conducted. It has its own history. Mahatma gandhi use to live in the campus of college with the founder gopal krishna gokhale. If you get affiliated to gipe, you will not regret it. Alsl being situated in the most liveable city pune. You can enjoy your personal life also along with studies.

It is one of the oldest and best institute of India for an economics aspirant.

Faculty is amazing. Placements are nice. Industry knowledge is great. Mess food is average. Hostel infrastructure is amazing have individual washourooms in each room. Rooms are on sharing basis. Admin department is bery helpful. Student mentors are assigned. One thing that is lacking is core economics. Only MSc economics have core economics others have finance trade and agriculture as their core.
