I am currently pursuing Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Design Engineering from Defence Institute of Advanced Technology - [DIAT], Pune. The admission procedure was simplified and user-friendly for all the applicants.
The minimum qualification to apply for the course is B-Tech in Communication, Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics or Electrical science. then, The college have to apply for common all-India competitive like Gate and the admission will be given on the based of marks which are considered as 80% marks on GATE and 20% depends on the interview of the candidate. There is no age limit to apply for the course.
To get admission in M-Tech the candidate must have an undergraduate degree in science streams like Electrical, Communication and Information Technology. Then, he or she has to fill an application form on the website of DIAT by paying an amount of application fee. which is INR 500 for General and OBS category and INR 250 for SC/ST, women and for PWD candidates.
Defence Institute of Advanced Technology is an autonomous organization under Department of Defense Research and Development.Candidates who are willing to take admission in this college have to fill an online admission form
The admission are done on the academic performance of a candidate. There is no entrance examination conducted by the college for the admissions.Students simply have to fill an application form for admission.
If DIAT can provide placements, this is one area where DIAT lacks. Other than this DIAT is a college that is comparable to the IITs, better than NITs for post-graduation courses for sure. Since this college is regarded as one of the DRDO colleges, it provides very good opportunities for research.
The M. Tech program from DIAT is a dream come true for someone who is interested in pursuing something meaningful and yet unique, especially in robust market like India.
I am pursuing a Double Degree (DD) Program Offered Jointly by DIAT and Cranfield University (UK). After completion of my degree I will receive two degrees, an M.Tech degree from DIAT and an M.Sc degree from CU. I filled a single form for both the courses. The admission process was pretty simple.
Admission process is, first get shortlisted through GATE examination and which will be followed by an interview. This is one of the college in India, by defence, DRDO to civilian students. Interview though is not that tough compared to IITs/IISc's.
