- I having the best memories in this college. I had fun with every festival,fest and club activities. Expecially at the time of onam we had great fun. There are 2 fest in the college . Ragam cultural fest and Tathva technical fest.
- Education is properly taught by the skilled professors and lectures. Digital classrooms are provied. Digital and non Digital library are provided. Big computer center also there. Doubts are clarified in the class it self .
Dislikes
- I dont have much dislikes about the college but sometimes its very long to walk to the classes from hostels.
Fees and Financial Aid:
NITC provide scholarship for the students.Reservation for the Sc/St students also available. Fee weaver for PWD and EWS candidates also there. For Reservation candidates 16217 is the semester fee . For non Reservation or people not having EWS they have to pay 78000 per semester. For scholarship around we get 20000.

- The campus life with technical fests and various sports activities available there
- Message facilities and various types of food available which is delicious and cheap
Dislikes
- The academic life is little hectic for the students and some class rooms lack proper facilities
- The hostel for the first year is really old and the rooms lack proper wardrobe facilities

Fees Per sem is 60k rupees and for the people with annual income or less than 4 lpa will get 100 percent scholarship and for others who have less than 8 lpa 50 percent . And for sc/St category the fees is also free

- SINCE THE CAMPUS IS VERY BIG U WILL HAVE TO WALK 10 MINS TO GO TO CLASS. BUT U CAN TAKE THE CAMPUS BUS TO GO THE CLASS

AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION U HAVE TO PAY AROUND 183K IN WHICH 53K IS ONETIME DEPOSIT AND 1.25 LAKH (WAIVED FOR SC/ST PWD AND GEN OBC EWS WITH ANNUAL INCOME <1LAKH) IS TUTION FEE FOR 1ST YEAR REMAINING IS SOME OTHER FEES LIKE EXAM REGISTRATION FEES LIKE THAT WHICH WILL VARY EVERY SEMESTER.

- Strong College Reputation: It has one of the most high standards of reputation amongst engineering colleges and has a top NIRF ranking.The college has a great set of faculty for all the branches who are experienced and highly qualified.
- Many Courses offered: NIT Calicut offers 15 different courses inclusive UG,PG and doctorate programs.All these programs have the best faculty and best infrastructure with well equipped labs and libraries.
Dislikes
- Cultural Adjustment: NIT Calicut ,just like other NITs has 50% home state reservation making it quite difficult for students to interact as most Malayalam students don't understand hindi and some even tend to look down upon other state students.
- Hostels and Infrastructure: NIT Calicut has one of the best hostel amongst all colleges,the MEGA HOSTEL.However it is only for a specific year of students and not given to all.The other hostels are in bad shape with not maintained washrooms.
Fees and Financial Aid:
The tution fee is justified for the amount of knowledge and experience they tend to offer in the span of the 4 years of college.For general category students it is around Rs.67,000 per semester as the course has 8 semesters in the 4 years.Reservations are there for OBC and SC/ST students where the fees are reduced and one can also apply for scholarship where the institute tends to pay 100% of the fees of the students.The hostel and mess fee is significantly low to about Rs.5000 per month. The campus also provides employment oppurtinites where you can be a professor's aid or work in the library getting decent enough stipend for a student in the campus.

They provides many projects and assignments for us to boost the practical knowledge. All government provide scholarships are available there. But the tution and hostel fee is high.But I think college maintain a good job opportunity for students.

Tuition fee is increasing to the new batches. For the first semester the amount is 17586 and for the second semester it is 12000. So many scholarships are provided for the students. But the accessibility of scholarship is difficult

Iam writing in my college expenditure.During admission time as an st category inhad to pay like seat acceptance fee ,partial admission fee tution fee hostel fee and it became a total of around 71000 and after that from second sem I have to pay 13k for hostel fees and 9000 for academics. I am availing egrantz scholarship which is for st SC and obc students of Kerala State students given by Kerala govt and there are certain other scholarship for many categories of students which you can apply in academic block. Fee structure is different for different categories of students.

- Best thing is library, everything available there that digital library is so good for us.
- There are almost 15 message. Which is a good thing.
Dislikes
- Student are using there native language which makes feel odd to me .
- Lots of useless assignment which we have to do every semester.

Tution fees and all the others charge are just wow like thinks because my all other friends who are living in other city and doing there BA BSC , they all spend 8k per month but here we just have to pay about 7k every month for all the things like mess, electricity, water , etc

- I loved the campus life at NIT Calicut. Its a lovely green campus. There are lot of areas for friends to hangout and relax after the classes.
- All the major state festivals are celebrated. This helps in building inclusivity among the students.

Tuition fee for general category with annual income above 5LPA is around 65000 per semester. In addition to this is the hostel and mess fee which comes around 6000 per month. However various fee structures are provided based on annual income and reservation categories. Also both state and central government provide a lot of scholarships for academically bright students. How is EEE at NIT Calicut?
If you are considering studying at the National Institute of Technology Calicut, here are some important points to keep in mind:
Academics:
- The curriculum was last updated in 2017, and there is very little emphasis on practical applications.
- The syllabus is designed to help you crack exams like GATE, but there may be pressure in some semesters and a lot of free time in others.
- Simulation software is not taught as part of the curriculum, so it's a good idea to attend workshops conducted by various clubs and student groups.
- Despite these challenges, many students secure admission in various IITs and IIMs every year.
Faculty:
- While some of the faculty members are enthusiastic about teaching, others may not have a strong grasp of the subject or may not be interested in teaching.
- Because there is a shortage of permanent faculty in some departments, some courses (especially electives) may be taught by ad-hoc staff with little or no teaching experience.
- It's important to choose your electives wisely to ensure that you get the best education possible.
Infrastructure:
- The classrooms are well-equipped, and there is usually no shortage of equipment in the labs.
- However, the UG labs may be crowded, and you may need to do experiments in groups of 3 or 4 students in hot and humid weather conditions.
Placements:
- Many core companies like Bosch, Schneider Electric, ABB, Larsen, and Toubro visit the campus for placements.
- For electrical profile jobs, the packages may not be very high.
- For electronics profile jobs, companies like Texas Instruments and Tektronix hire students from EEE backgrounds.

Between NIT Calicut and BITS Hyderabad, the latter is the better option irrespective of the branch you are getting. Here are a few points of difference between the two institutes.
- BITS Hyderabad EEE placements are great and students get placed in core electronics companies such as NVIDIA, National Instruments, Texas Instruments, MediaTek, etc while NIT Calicut has very few core companies and students are usually placed in IT companies.
- BITS Hyderabad charges very high fees whereas NIT Calicut charges average fees.
- BITS Hyderabad offers a better exposure and research culture in comparison to NIT Calicut.
- BITS Hyderabad has an excellent faculty pool and the labs are equipped with modern instruments much better than NIT Calicut.
In my opinion, BITS Hyderabad should be your preference provided that you have no monetary issues.
