The faculty of our department is very nice. they have very strong knowledge of the subject and also they are involved in very good research project.
Yes college also provide many scholarships to students and they were too helping.
"hillfair"-this is the cultural festival of the college two unforgettable nights filled with fun, joy, laughter, entertainment, learning, bonding, interacting with batchmates as well as seniors for the overall growth.

Dislikes

The placements of my college have became quite bad gradually, and they have fallen quite badly .
Hostels and their washroom are in pathetic condition. mess food is also not up to the mark . overall hostel condition is not good. almirah and chairs are broken ,
Teachers and staffs are bit of biased to the himachal pradesh

Great college for studies and all

Likes

Campus is quite good with fresh air and sunsets
Almost all of the branches have a different building which makes it easier to look for teachers.

Dislikes

Internet connection is not up to the marks. In hostels you will get limited data per day.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum here is quite old and being followed from a long time but for the upcoming batch it has been changed quite a bit including more modern subjects instead of trivial ones. Exams are held 2 times in a semester mid-sem(30) and end-sem(50) and 20 marks are given for internals YES which includes attendance also...

Likes

Campus is really amazing and the environment here is just too good
Good architecture and design of buildings of departments.

Dislikes

Very remote location and have no public transport
Language barrier is there for Hindi as local workers speak pahadi

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.tech is one of the most difficult course as per my knowledge and it requires a lot of hard work for continuous 4 years. But this course had a lot of assignments and practical file writing which is meaningless. There should be more practical knowledge than Theory should be tought. We don't have much time between semester. But difficulty level are not so hard.

Campus Life is good it is full of greenery and various mountains views are appear from college .
Faculty is supportable if any one has wish to study or know anything related to their branches and other branches they can easily contact to that teacher
Infrastructe is good labs are full of working equipments so that every student can learn by doing practicals not only just theory.

Dislikes

Teachers and staffs are bit of biased to the Himachal Pradesh
Data given on the website for the placement is overrated as they don't show the exact placement data they only show placed student
The location of college is bad it comes to remote area the connectivity is very bad due to these many things are affected

Placement Experience:

Placement scenerio is same as the other nit colleges like highest package goes about 1cr and lowest will be 6lpa and median is. About 9lpa and overall an average placement of 13lpa . Percentage of students getting placed is 85 percent but Barch and engineering physics has lower placement in this college. Many of the student went for higher studies .my plan is to get placed after the completion of degree.

My experience at NIT Hamirpur

Likes

Campus life and infrastructure and location
also the lush green campus is very relaxing and peaceful
Attitude of students towards teachers and faculty

Dislikes

placement opportunities are not at par with the reputation
the lack of shops of basic needs in the campus

Placement Experience:

The placements at NIT hamirpur are not very good compared to other top Government Engineering colleges. However the students of top branches like CSE, ECE have been able to avail good packages both inside and outside the campus.

The beauty of NIT Hamirpur

Likes

Awesome weather . It is situated on the mountains therefore it has a pleasant season the whole year.
It has beautiful infrastructure . campus is very clean
Sports culture is very nice. It offers a wide variety of sports facilities.

Dislikes

Placement scenario is not quite expected as it must be for nit.
There is a little bit of faculty bias towards himachali people

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester students become eligible for campus placement. Tata , oracle and mostly tech companies come here. Highest package offered was nearly 58 lpa. 80% of students were placed. Sitting for the placements ismy plan while some pepare for gye exams.

NIT Hamirpur- A Glimpse of Institute in Mountains

Likes

Lush Green Campus with many picture perfect places. There are many places to visit near the campus which are tourist destination as well.
Sports facilities like badminton, football,cricket and many more. A special Student Activity Centre or SAC is there for students to play indoor sports.

Dislikes

There are manh restrictions if you have to go out of campus. One cannot go out with permission of MMCA and sunday's outing are not allowed. Campus location is remote so there are not much food stalls near the campus.

Placement Experience:

Placements in college are really good specifically for the students of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science Engineering. When student enter his/her 7th semester, he is eligible for placements. For Computer Science and Engineering, companies like CRED, Deloitte, Samsung, Reliance Jio visits the campus. All time highest package was 1.73 crore in the year 2022-23. Around 690 students out of 952 were placed with the percentage of 72.65% Average package was 12.74 Lakh.

No taxi service for cheap it is very costly
No nightlife in hamirpur very boring village

Placement is quite good ot totally depends on how hard are u willing to work and you efforts so us ethe 4 years properly on yourself. And also try to learn as many new things as possible. Work on your communication skills too

OUR COLLEGE

Library is the best place I found in my college.
Our campus is very beautiful as we all know NIT HAMIRPUR is one of the most beautiful nits among all nits.
The environment of college is very good as it has a greenery everywhere.

Dislikes

We had to walk a lot every single day.As we are having e -rikshaw available but it is not every time available.
Sometimes it gets too cold but overall weather is very pleasant.
There are lot of monkeys in our campus ,sometimes we had to change our way beacause of fear of them.

Placement Experience:

In the end of 7th semester students are eligible to sit for the placements. There are many companies which visit NIT HAMIRPUR. In our chemical department average package is 8-9 lakh and highest package 14-15 lakh. 50 -60 percent student got placed from our college every year. To get placed in good company is gaol right now.
