Delhi University: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 15 Reviews

The college boasts a well-qualified faculty, with most professors holding PhDs and some having over 20 years of experience. The faculty-to-student ratio is 30:1 for theory and 15:1 for practicals, providing personalized mentorship and support. While the faculty is knowledgeable and supportive, concerns about favoritism and teaching methods exist. From the 5th semester, students can participate in placements with companies like Wipro and Tata, with a placement rate of approximately 80%.

Salary packages range from 5 to 15 lakh per annum. Students have access to internships, but placements are pursued independently as the college does not officially facilitate them. The fee structure for BSc (Hons) Food Technology at Delhi University is between INR 13,000 and 22,000 annually, plus an examination fee ranging from INR 2,000 to 2,600. Over four years, the total tuition fee is about INR 1.32 lakh. Annual fee increments range from INR 2,000 to 3,000.

Scholarships are available through state programs and the DU website, but are limited for general caste students. The Bhaskaracharya Financial Support Scheme offers INR 6,000. The college's infrastructure needs improvement, with issues like irregular electricity and poor maintenance. Despite these challenges, the overall fees remain affordable compared to similar courses at other institutions.
