Should I choose NIT Trichy metallurgy over NIT Raipur ECE?

My friend is currently pursuing B.Tech from NIT Raipur in the mechanical department. His honest opinion says that you should go for metallurgy at NIT Trichy. Here’s why If you went for the wrong branch or found out later that this is not your cup of tea, then after the 1st year you will have an option called branch sliding. In this process, you can change your branch from the current one to the desired one based upon the number of vacancies and score. If you went for the wrong college, then there's no option as a college slide! You’ll have to devote your 4 years in that college anyhow, except if you again decide to give mains. So, if you simply want to get into a better place then choose NIT Trichy. This is because you can get the advantage of branch sliding anyhow. However, if you don’t want to take risk of not getting the desired branch, then go for NIT Raipur. At last, sort your preferences and know your sole aim. Because in the long run, your happiness and satisfaction are what matters the most!

Which is better, VNIT for metallurgy or NIT Raipur for IT?

One of my acquaintances who has graduated from VNIT has asked me to choose my institute by keeping the following points in mind. VNIT for metallurgy would be a suitable choice for you if you don’t have a particular liking. Apart from that, the metallurgy of VNIT holds an enviable position in India. The syllabus for metallurgy is vast and involves a lot of memorization. If you want CS and unfortunately end up not getting it, the next logical step would be to choose IT. The syllabus of IT and CS are almost the same. In the big picture, it will have little importance if you complete your B.Tech from VNIT or NIT Raipur. You will have a degree and you will not regret the decision you made. IT has a lot of scopes. Later down the road, if you want to continue with your higher studies, you will be capable of switching to almost any department pertaining to computers. IT from NIT Raipur is an excellent choice. The scope in the metallurgy sector is limited nowadays. It is obviously your call, though. There is vast scope in IT like research, job, etc.

As I am a st reserved category so my fee is about 10000 per sem as Institute fee but my friend has 73000 per sem but there is sum releif for economical weaker section student some amount is not paid about 30 percent so it is better than other engineering colleges you also get nsp scolership for hostel and admission fee or semester fee

Course I find is somewhat outdated and need to be updated.

Fee structure for Btech course is approx 143000 per year, semester fees are different and decreases every year starting with approx 70k for parental income above 5 lacs. Fee structure is different for other category students and whose parental income is below 5 lacs. There are various scholarships available for the students like NSP.

Detailed review of NIT Raipur - by an undergrad of NITRR

Good fee structure for student who comes from financially challenged background.

The yearly was around 1.34 lakhs per academic year however this was for year 2021 admitees. The fees increase slightly on every 2-3 years but increase is very less if we yearly basis. Here is the brakedown of fee structure- Tution fees - 62,500 INR Institute Develoment fees - 2570 Library fees - 965 Computer and internet fees - 645 Student activity fees - 1480 Career development fee- 645 Examination fees - 1285 Student safety Insurance fees - 540 Medical fees - 160 MIS fees - 320 However, we need to pay only tution fee and examination fee on each semester and rest of the component have to paid in each odd semester after 3rd semeseter and it decreases once we go to 5th semester. There is fee remission for SC/ST students and student belong general/OBC category with having family income less than 1 lakh per annum and if family income is in 1 - 5 lakhs then 2/3rd of the fee remission is granted by institute. Scholarship can be availed by student like NSP, state goverment scholarships, Dr K.K. sugandhi scholarship(INR 1100 for 10 months; criteria -2nd year student, highest CPI, family income less than 2.5 lakhs), sh. manghandas & smt. sundari devi hablani memorial scholarship(INR 15600 for 1st years, INR 9600 for 2nd,3rd,4th years; criteria - family income less than 1 lakhs),sharman foundation scholarship(INR 15000 to 20000; criteria - finantially disadvantage), Dr kathuriya & smt. pramila devi kathuriya memorial scholarship(INR 25000; criteria - 2nd year mechanical engg. with family income less than 5lakhs per annum) etc.

Good placement but lacks in infrastructure

Relevance of and rigor of course curriculum is best thing that NIT Raipur provides to students, It helps in overall personal development.

The Yearly Fee Structure of my college ( NIT Raipur ) is approximately 143000 rs ( including miscellaneous and tution fees ) for General category. For students opting hotel accommodation they are required to pay approx 55000 rs annually, hostel fees slightly increases every year but tution fees remains the same.

You choose this college for placement, not judge area facilities and mess food and this link is very good.

The college fee is 144000 per year. Per semester fee is 72000 . Tution fee per semester is 62500. Devlopment fee per semester is 2750 . Registration fee is 500 . And others is different. Categories wise fees are different. ST/SC / PWD students can't paid tution fee. They pay college fee compulsory. Those students whose income is less , their tution fee also less.

NIT Raipur college review( best for placement)

Scholarship are provided to the Sc, St , Pwd candidates on their tution fees with a full waiver. General and obc candidates with an annual income of less than 1lpa are provided full tution fees waiver and whose family income is below 5 lpa are provided a 2/3 tuition fees waiver. Apart from this there are many scholarships which are provided on merit basis.

My great college

The fee structure is quite affordable and diffrent scholarships are also available for students . Students with income of less than 1 lakh need not to pay the tuition fee too which is really a good thing for students with poor financial background
