A lot of scope for improvement

Likes

The campus ambience is calm and relaxing with trees all around to give it a soothing environment
The Library is quite resourceful and late night accessibility is very helpful for students.
The classroom infrastructure has been recently changed and new smart classrooms have been installed, which also allows for attending the classes online.

Dislikes

The mess food is not up to mark. The administration tries to bring in different mess tendors to improve the quality but it's still not good

The medical facility is also not very good.

Academic structure and curriculum in the campus

The course structure is quite relevant and the syllabus is updated as per the changing laws amd rules. The curriculum includes the contemporary subjects as well. The university has also introduced new electives courses for all the students, wherein subjects like enenrgy law , caste survey etc are being offered. The professors somehow need to use the modern techniques now that the smart classrooms have been installed and not the traditional lecture delivery.

Campus internship opportunities and projects

The university has a placement and internship cell. But the students get their internships on their own, and the internship cell plays no role in fetching internships. They do fetch internships but they are not adequate. They are some basic, random internships. The projects are written research works on different topics of a given subject. The projects are verified against plagiarism through turnitin portal.

What are the placement opportunities in the college and highest package?

The students become eligible for campus placement from 7th semester onwards. The university has a placement cell, but it doesn't function properly. Over the years, only a handful of companies come. The number of students getting placed through campus placement offers is also very less(4-5) in a batch. The recruiting companies are ICICI and Khaitan and co. offering an approximate package of 16-18 LPA.

Yearly fees of the course and scholarship

The tution fee currently is roughly 2Lac per year. It includes the mess and hostel fee. Although you need to pay extra for services like AC or cooler in rooms. The fee structure is not constant, it keeps changing amd almost every year, there is fee hike, sometimes in name of infrastructure, sometimes electricity etc. University doesn't provide any financial aid or scholarship to students, although the central and state government provides some scholarships to students. The students are reimbursed the cost of travelling and registration if the qualify any competition like moots, debates or sports. The fee structure includes mess, library, electricity, internet , welfare fee etc.

Students views about the campus life

The university holds different competitions throughout the year, some of them are intra competitions while others are inter college competition. The university holds sport's competition every semester, like football league, cricket league, chess, badminton, basketball competitions. The university has different committees too.

What are facilities available in the college hostel?

There are separate hostel for girls and boys. The hostel offers two type of room facilities, single occupancy and double occupancy.Each room has a balcony. The room is equipped with basic utility and furniture,but thats all. There are common washrooms which are mostly clean. The quality of menu is good, but the food provided is not good. The hostel us affordable if you can manage without AC, since AC charges are extra( 20k) plus you've to get your own ac purchased and installed.

Faculty and learning experience in the campus

There is a lack of faculty members. Some of the existing faculty does try to reach out to every student and help them out in academics and research work. But there is a need to hire more professors. Due to lack of faculty, the professors are forced to teach even the subject they are not proficient in.

What is the admission process of the college?

The university is an NLU and therefore for taking admission, the applicant must appear for CLAT- UG . After the results, the CLAT consortium releases a merit list and then if you are eligible, you get to fill the preference list of all the NLUs. For taking admission in CLNU, the general cutoff for round 1 , 2024 was 322(opening) and 1236(closing). The university offers a state reservation to all the category candidates. Every semester there's a mid semester exam and an end semester exam. Every semester also includes a project work in each subject. Passing in end semester exam and projects respectively is compulsory for clearing the semester. The admission process is completely transparent and it is not done by university but through the CLAT consortium itself. The university offers PG course as well, for which the university takes the admission test itself.

I got TNNLU, NUSRL and CNLU. I chose CNLU due to its proximity to my home. Additionally, other colleges were not very far better than CNLU. The admissions in CNLU for UG courses are held through CLAT consortium only or through their vacancy list but in CLAT marks and category of the student.

I also got accepted at NUSRL, Ranchi but did not opt for it as most of the things about it are similar to CNLU. However, one x-factor which probed me to join my current college was the appointment of Faizan Sir as the VC of our college.

Admission:

The admission process of this college is by giving the CLAT exam which is held in whole of the India and nealy 300000 students give this exam.There is also ranking of colleges so if u get better marks in CLAT exam than you will be eligible for better colleges in India. I applied for Gnlu which is in Gujrat and that college was my dream college as it has eveything that i needed in my whole life but my rank was not upto the eligibilty criteria of that college so i got admission in Patna. But there was a sense of relaxation that although i didin't get that college but this college is near my home so it's good to have here.My college is mush better than other colleges because first it has a great infrastructure and second one is that it is in middle of the patna so you can avail anything by nearky travelling half an hour and it's a very plus point for Cnlu.

Campus life is great. You get to take part in a lot of competitions and programs.

Admission:

To get into a national law University, you have to appear in an entrance exam called CLAT. there are 25 nlu in India. On 1st rank there is Nlu banglore, 2nd there is Nlu Hyderabad and the list goes on. According to your rank in CLAT exam you get Nlu's. Mostly students either prefer a college which is high in rank or a college close to their hometown. Cutoff varies every year. Sometimes paper is easy and cutoff goes high sometimes it's difficult so cutoff comes low. For general category, You have to be under 2500 rank to get admission into an nlu. The admission process is quite simple . Everything is done from the CLAT official website. According to my rank which was 15000, I had 3 options - CNLU, NLU Orissa and NLU Ranchi. I chose Cnlu because it is close to my hometown and it was better than nlu Ranchi and on almost same footing of nlu Orissa.

The campus ambience is calm and relaxing with trees all around to give it a soothing environment
The Library is quite resourceful and late night accessibility is very helpful for students.
The classroom infrastructure has been recently changed and new smart classrooms have been installed, which also allows for attending the classes online.

Dislikes

The medical facility is also not very good.
The university is built in a small space and therefore lacks sports grounds. But a single space can be turned into a multi sports complex

College has a well managed infrastructure and library with collection of more than 22000 books.

Dislikes

Cnlu is overall has a great Infrastructure with reasonable fee.
The college has a comparatively small campus .
The more disliked thing about the college is it's location .

Admission:

To take admission in any nlus the students have to go through the common law entrance test ( CLAT ) examination and the students have to score minimum of 45% in their intermediate examination. Clat exam consist of 120 questions.

The admission process is quite easy. It is totally based on merit. The students who get a good rank in clat are the ones who are eligible to take admission in the university. Reservation benefits are available for students coming from lower castes and economically weaker sections. Reservation for students who belong to Bihar is also available.

The campus is situated in the heart of patna which easily connect nearby railway station and airport.
One of the best thing is infrastructure. Both girls and boys situated itself in the campus. Digital Classes equipped with moder facilities.

Dislikes

The University doesn't have the sports culture. The students who are interested in any sports doesn't get the opportunity and facility to lift

Admission:

Any students after the completion of 12th have to give CLAT(Common Law Admission Test) which is conducted all over India for the admission in different National Law Universities. The application form , fees and dates is available on the Clat Consortium websites. The exam mainly held in the month of December each year and because of this, the student get less time to prepare for the exam. The Chanakya National Law University also provides reservation to the Sc, St, and EBC of Bihar. It also cover Ews and women reservations.

Chanakya National Law University Review

Admission:

Before enrolling into any National Law University, a student has to appear for the CLAT exam, and based on the rank scored in the exam a student gets the college. If a student got the CNLU so all the communication is done by the email provided to the consortium. Cut-off of CNLU depends on the difficulty level of the paper of CLAT. CNLU has 20 seats for SC students of Bihar. Other SC student outside of Bihar is not considered. Application forms can be found on the website Consortium of NLU and all the details are available there regarding the question paper and the information about the college. The application fee for general category students is 4000 and for SC and lower caste students is 3500. The CLAT exam is held annually in December. The difficulty level of the paper depends on the question paper setter. The admission process is vague. As it only admits students who are good at English reading. At Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna, for the 5-year B.A. LL.B / B.B.A. LL.B programme: the tuition fee for 2025-26 is INR 1,20,698 per year. The mess fee (tentative) is INR 31,500 annually. For hostel: room rent for a double-seated room is INR 22,000 per year, plus electricity INR 8,000 per year. There is also a refundable hostel deposit of INR 10,000. Summing up, over 5 years, including hostel and mess, the cost is around INR 2.62 lakh (first-year figure; may vary in later years).

Admission in CNLU is based on the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) examination for the UG course and research program. For the Doctorate course, there is another entrance exam. Selection of all courses are completely merit-based, you need to pass the entrance exam for the admission in this college.

Application Process

Complete all previous applicable exams and clear any backlogs.
Appear for the CLAT exam for LLB and LLM admission. For LLD, get 5 years of teaching experience certificate.
Fill up the application form for the required admission and submit all documents required. This process can be done both online and offline. Wait for cut off and merit list.
If shortlisted, complete the admission process and pay the relevant admission fee.
