Course Curriculum Overview

4

Courses are quite lengthy but it feels great to learn. Teachers make very interesting the learning. We law students divide our syllabus in such a way for self-study which boosts our decision making and we continuously make some changes in our approach to make it better learning. Sometimes due to fests and college competitions classes are off so it becomes difficult for the teachers and us to complete the syllabus on time so it becomes very lengthy to complete our syllabus in a very short period. So it is better that the classes be on the day of the fest and competitions and only students should be involved in the fest who are interested and the rest should attend the classes. Our college has 2 exams in a semester. Mis sem and end sem. Mis sem comprises 15 marks and End sem comprises 60 marks. There are also marks for attendance which is 5 marks, and 20 marks of project total becomes 100. I think students should be engaged in exams more frequently.

Internships Opportunities

5

In the National Law University getting internship is a piece of cake. The college focuses on the internship and has a separate cell for it. This cell guides us on where to apply for the internship and issue a letter of recommendation. The college does not provide any internship on campus or any stipend.

Placement Experience

2.5

CNLU is generally known for Judiciary. The majority of students are preparing for the Judiciary exam. Placement at this college is quite low compared to other colleges. This is because in placement very few students sit and appear for the placements. The majority of the students opt for higher studies like LLM or other PG courses or start preparing for Judiciary or Civil service exams. The main disadvantage of low placement is the geographical location of this college. It is situated in Patna where there is no company resides. All the major companies are in Delhi, Mumbai, or other big cities. Patna is underdeveloped which is why most of the big companies don't come to recruit the students. Students are eligible for placement from the eighth semester only. After completing his/her graduation they can join the company. Major companies visited for placement are banks and second-tier law firms. Approx 25% of students get placed during the year. I am planning to prepare for the judiciary.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fees depend on various factors. Now our college has become digital so it will increase. The fees will increase as per the requirement and time of the completion of the syllabus of a subject. The complete cost of education in a year is 2.5 lakhs approx. Tuition fee - 114950, infrastructure development - 6000, Development Charge - 3000, Student welfare fund - 3000, Examination fee- 5000, Facilities fee - 16000, Library fees - 5000, Mess fees - 31500, Room Rent(Double seated) - 18000, Electricity charge - 5000, Moot Court - 2500, Arbitration and Mediation fee - 2500, Sports fee - 2500, Literary and Cultural activities - 2000, Internet fee - 1500, Total - 218450. College don't provide any scholarship, but it accepts various scholarship by government and education loan. There is no job available for the campus. Only person could be admitted as teacher who qualified for being teacher. LLM student gets the chance to teach the students without any stipend only for getting experience.

Campus Life

4.5

Overall experience in the college is amazing. Parliamentary Debate is the flagship event hosted by CNLU. It is a very popular event in which many students take part in this. It is organized at the national level and is held in September. Our library has 22000 reading materials including books and journals. The online library is also available for remote access. Our classroom is now totally digital and the teaching will done on a smart board with a smart class. This will increase the understanding of the concept. Sports are not recognized in this college. There is no environment for sports, but extracurricular like cultural activities and other things are encouraged. Debating and mooting are also given very importance. There are internship cells that guide where to intern. The atmosphere here in this college is open-minded. Please don't consider the college backward because of the geographical location.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The room in the hostel is big enough to accommodate the two students and is well-lighted. Double-seated room costs 18000 per year per student. Students can pay extra to install AC and cooler in the summer days. Mess fees cost 31000 in a year and the quality is very good. The vegetables and cereals are fresh and it has a canteen in the mess. Rooms are only allotted to students who are not from Patna. Local students may opt out of getting rooms.

Admission

Before enrolling into any National Law University, a student has to appear for the CLAT exam, and based on the rank scored in the exam a student gets the college. If a student got the CNLU so all the communication is done by the email provided to the consortium. Cut-off of CNLU depends on the difficulty level of the paper of CLAT. CNLU has 20 seats for SC students of Bihar. Other SC student outside of Bihar is not considered. Application forms can be found on the website Consortium of NLU and all the details are available there regarding the question paper and the information about the college. The application fee for general category students is 4000 and for SC and lower caste students is 3500. The CLAT exam is held annually in December. The difficulty level of the paper depends on the question paper setter. The admission process is vague. As it only admits students who are good at English reading. The CLAT exam depends on the reading speed of the candidate. Real talent is not conside

Faculty

4.5

There is quite a shortage of teachers in this college and administration is working to fill the gap of teacher per student ratio. The teacher in this college is well qualified and always welcomes students to solve doubts. We interact with them as we want to solve our doubts. They are available anytime in person or on call.
