The college also provides for elective courses offering more subjects to learn. The competitions like moot court, Mediation and more prepare you for practical environments. Most of our teachers are good. They teach theory as well as how to apply it in actual settings. The exams occur at perfect timing . There is only 2 exams each semester which does not put burden on students. The difficulty level is average so that everyone can score good marks which helps them in their career.

4.5

The library capacity for students is less. But the number of books and e resources it offers to students is huge. There are thousands of books in library and online available to students. E resources like SCC, Manupatra, EBC and more are available. All the classes are smart class with high technology equipments. Sports activities also happens quite often like Chanakya premiere league, soccer league and more such sports fests. Dandya nights, diwali and holi celebrations , Dj nights makes college more happening. They even conduct competitions which is open for anyone to participate. Annual fest like JEEVATVA also takes place once every one or 2 years. These help overall development of students apart from academics and gets them ready for real life situations.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There are hostels separate for boys and girls. Each hostel has facilities of canteen, message, gym, washing machine and water cooler. There are 2 types of room available - single and double. Single room costs 28000 and double costs 22000. The room has table, chair, cupboard, bed, fan, light and a balcony. If you want ac or coolers you have to install it yourself and separate electricity charge is to be paid for it. Mess menu is decided by message committee which is formed by students only. Food quality and taste is average. The registration process for hostel is simple. On the day of your admission you are alloted the room. The fees is quite affordable.

Admission

To get into a national law University, you have to appear in an entrance exam called CLAT. there are 25 nlu in India. On 1st rank there is Nlu banglore, 2nd there is Nlu Hyderabad and the list goes on. According to your rank in CLAT exam you get Nlu's. Mostly students either prefer a college which is high in rank or a college close to their hometown. Cutoff varies every year. Sometimes paper is easy and cutoff goes high sometimes it's difficult so cutoff comes low. For general category, You have to be under 2500 rank to get admission into an nlu. The admission process is quite simple . Everything is done from the CLAT official website. According to my rank which was 15000, I had 3 options - CNLU, NLU Orissa and NLU Ranchi. I chose Cnlu because it is close to my hometown and it was better than nlu Ranchi and on almost same footing of nlu Orissa.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty to student ratio is adequate. Faculties are very approachable. They are in their chambers till 6 in the evening. Till then any one can go to them and discuss any kind of problems. The criminal and company law faculty are the best. Their teaching style is perfect. Whatever they teach gets stuck in your mind. The labour law faculty is very poor. Not a single word is understood. The subjects taught in 5 year course are very important and according to UGC. It gives a clear understanding of law. In a year there are 2 semesters. In each semester there are 2 exams. One is mid semester exam if 15 marks and other is end semester exam if 60 marks. The remaining marks is for project and attendance. Mostly students get good marks and very few fail. For them repeat exams are conducted.

Placement Experience:

CNLU is generally known for Judiciary. The majority of students are preparing for the Judiciary exam. Placement at this college is quite low compared to other colleges. This is because in placement very few students sit and appear for the placements. The majority of the students opt for higher studies like LLM or other PG courses or start preparing for Judiciary or Civil service exams. The main disadvantage of low placement is the geographical location of this college. It is situated in Patna where there is no company resides. All the major companies are in Delhi, Mumbai, or other big cities. Patna is underdeveloped which is why most of the big companies don't come to recruit the students. Students are eligible for placement from the eighth semester only. After completing his/her graduation they can join the company. Major companies visited for placement are banks and second-tier law firms. Approx 25% of students get placed during the year. I am planning to prepare for the judiciary.
