It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

Campus Review - NIT Rourkela

Likes

College Fests: Monthly College fests give us a good time to refresh ourselves.
Large Campus: Nit rourkela has a huge campus.
Library:NIT Rourkela has a good central library.

Dislikes

Distance from hostel to department building is long.
Nit rourkela us located in a remote region compatatively
Distance from hostel to Nitr main gate is long

Course Curriculum Overview:

I got Mechanical engineering branch through my jee main rank through josaa counseling. Total students in our batch and my branch is 138. Total 8 semeters are there. Each sem has 19-21 credits. Each subject is taken by diff professor.

An honest review about NIT Rourkela

Likes

Campus life is what I got the most fascinating in NIT Rourkela.
The second thing which I liked the most is the helping nature of the seniors.
The third thing which I like the most was infrastructure,placements etc.

Dislikes

I dislike the night canteen closing time.
Sometimes I don't like the behaviour of other people in campus.
There should be some more restaurants in the campus.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements after 6th semester.There are various companies which visit NIT Rourkela like Amazon, Deloitte,BPCL etc. And the number of offers made was around 1000. The highest package offered was 52 lakhs and the average package offered was 14 lakhs per annum. There was a 100% placements in the electrical branch and around 90% overall placement. I'm aiming for PSUs in the college and also preparing for GATE and ESE.

NIT Rourkela' Tales

Likes

It is a lush green campus which puts you closure to the nature.
It has great infrastructure, there are about 20 branches.
Faculties are great, quality of education is updated

Dislikes

Damaged machines should be replaced from the labs.
Its a huge campus, cycling is needed no petrol vehicles for students
Mess food can be more good and change should be there

Placement Experience:

In fourth year students are eligible for campus placements. Highest package is of 80lakhs from Computer Science department. For mechanical engineering, it is 20 lakh from PSUs, profile is management trainee. Average is around 12 lakh for mechanical engineering department, and profile is graduate trainee. There is 90% placements. I want to work for the company.

NIT Rourkela- An amazing ride

Likes

The greenery and beauty of the campus is breathtaking.
Studying material is easily available in campus itself.
All concepts are cleared in the class itself, there is a doubt clearing class scheduled every week.

Dislikes

The curriculum is very stressfull and fatigue
Students have to do kilometres of cycling just to get class.
Dispensary situated at large distance from hostels.

Placement Experience:

After the completion of 6th semester, you are eligible to sit in placements, On average approx. 350 companies visit the campus every year, correct data can be found on college's official website. Amazon gives the highest package of 53 lakhs per annum.

A Bitter Sweet College life Summary- Chapter 3

Likes

The campus size, the freedom. Fests happen all around the year.
The winters are good and scenery is good
It provides a competitive enviromnment and the friends help you in your growth.

Dislikes

The placement season might be disheartening and toxic
Semester goes too fast with fests around, so it becomes hectic
Hygiene in hostels could be improved. The mess has stray animals luring around which makes it unhygienic

Placement Experience:

During 7th semester students students are eligible for campus placements. For chemical we have Saint Gobain, TATA Steel, Exxon Mobil, ITCX etc visiting the campus. For Tech we have Microsft visiting us. The highest package could go up to 90lpa and the average stands at 10lpa. The percentage varies every year but overall 70-80 per cent of students get placed easily. I am also thinking of getting into a PSU after getting a degree.

NITR from Delhite's Perspective

Likes

Green Campus, Sports Facilities, Canteens and the friends I have made here
The fests are pretty decent and give some flavor to our studious life

Dislikes

Nothing as such is disliked by me in the college

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for Internship opportunities from the 5th semester (starting of the 3rd year). The students are eligible for On-Campus placement opportunities from the 7th semester (beginning of the 4th year). The percentage of students getting placed varies from branch to branch, but it is above 90% of the total batch for most branches. And the other 10% mostly opt for higher studies and competitive exams. All big companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle, Tata Steel, Bajaj, TVS, Texas and others visit our campus annually. I plan to go for placements after getting the degree.

The campus is huge, with lot of lush greenery.
There is lot of oppurtunities in the field of research and development.

Placement Experience:

Students after 6th semester become eligible for campus placements. Many companies visited our college like Amazon, Microsoft, Barclays, Oracle, Qualcomm, Tata, etc. The highest package offered was 52 lacs and the average package offered is of 9.18 lacs. The percentage of students getting placed is above 95 percent. I also have a plan of getting a job after getting this degree.

Insights to NITRKL

Likes

The campus life is very good and is always lively. The night life here is also very good.
The academics here at nitrkl is excellent. There's this 85% attendance criteria here at NITR and they take into account very strictly this thing.
The clubs are really nice. The student community works well.

Dislikes

Sometimes the academics could be really hectic and pressurizing.
The campus is really big , you need to have a bike or cycle at min.
Hostel management to some extent can be improved.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for campus placements in the final year of their course. There are companies like Barclays, Microsoft, Bajaj, Tata Steel and many more. A decent number of candidates are hired by these companies. The highest packages go up to 52lpa provided by Microsoft for the SDE role. 100% of placements are recorded by NITR. I have already been selected as an intern at Bajaj Auto and looking forward to joining it.

NIT ROURKELA (MECHANICAL ENGINEERING) EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE COMING.

Likes

Campus environment and the greenery. Availability of every necessity.
Class room was well equipped. The studing experience was good.
The senior are cooperative and there is no ragging in campus.

Dislikes

Hott temperature during summer and the pollution is quite above good.
The professor could be more interactive.
The spending in club activities could be increased .

From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placement. The company includes Tata, John Deer, various drone startups, Royal Enfield, and many well-known companies. The highest package is around 20 lpa and the average was around 10 lpa. The placement percentage is around 98%. My plan is to appear for GATE entrance after my degree and get placed in a PSU.

For campus placement students are eligible from the 4th year(7th semester) and for internships, they are available from the 3rd year(5th semester). Many reputed companies visit the campus such as Microsoft, Mercedes, TATA, TVS, Vendata, etc for branch-specific students.

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
