What Students Say?
Likes
- I liked how they make us apply what we study in real life. We also collaborated with students in Canada to work on a group project which was excellent. There were multiple events on campus to showcase our work.
Dislikes
- The lack of international student body. Most of the students were Asians- mostly south asians. I think having an international student body gives you more exposure
I had to submit 2 LORs, a CV, Grades from my undergraduate degree. There wasn’t an interview requirement. I had to write a Statement of Purpose No interview rounds It was a good university which ranked fairly well in my subject- Fashion. It was an old university which meant a good alumni network I liked the location- Nottingham. It is a student city therefore its nightlife is amazing. One downside going to my university was the lack of international diversity which could have been better.
Course Curriculum
It is pretty practical. They make you experience things hands-on. They also had trips to factories and one where students could opt to go to Copenhagen.
Exams
-I only had to sit for IELTS. My score in IELTS was 7.5 overall -I need good grades in my undergraduate degree.
Placement
Due to the recession, most students are having trouble finding jobs in the UK. Some students did get placed. They usually do not have placements like in India. It is not the norm in the UK. The university has a career counselling service to help students with job applications.
Internship

Fees
Total tuition fee: £14000 when I studied.
Scholarship
I got a scholarship (merit-based) of £3000.
Faculty
There were around 40 students per classroom. The staff was well trained but the international body isn’t very diverse. There are a lot of Asians.
Campus Life
The facilities are all excellent. They have Wifi available, are good and are one of the oldest libraries. I never used sports facilities so I’m not sure about that but they had nightclubs where students could party.
Hostel
I did not stay on campus. My student accommodation cost me £820 per month with bills included. I had a private room with a shared kitchen. One also needs a guarantor to be able to rent a house.
