Remarks

If I am asked this question my answer will be always positive. Assam engineering college focuses on all-around development of students. There are some problems with infrastructure. If this is improved this college will shine.

Course Curriculum Overview

Our college is affiliated with Assam science and technology university. It is an engineering college with eight branches. Our college provides both undergraduate and post-graduate degrees. Exam pattern is semester basis.

Course Fees: INR 44000 per year

Placement Experience

The placement scenario of our college is good. Many good companies and PSU come to college to requiting students. College provides internships also in various PSUs and some companies. I also got an internship in the fourth semester.

College Events

There are various events celebrated throughout the year in our college. All the national events like independence day, republic day etc are celebrated. Also, a technical festival named "Pyrokinesis" is organized in our college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Our college is known for providing excellent quality education for a very small amount of fee. Everyone can afford the fee. Also, there are some relaxations in fees for students coming from economically backward families.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college provides scholarships. Various central and state-level scholarships are available in our college. Students are free to apply for anyone scholarship according to their choice. Since the fee is affordable so there is no need to take an education loan.

Campus Life

Students can join various extracurricular activities according to their choices. Football is my favorite game in our college. Students also get involved in various cultural activities. Labs are not quite good.

Hostel Facilities

Yes, I am a hosteller. There are nine hostels in our college. The infrastructure of hostels is not up to the mark. Through the hostel life is great. The environment in a hostel is very good. With education, they get life lessons from hostels.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni base of Assam engineering college is very good. It is the oldest engineering college in entire northeast India. Alumni are well established in various parts of India and some are even established outside India.

Admission

I got admission through the combined entrance examination, Assam. I scored 217/480 and got 110 th rank in the examination. The exam is of intermediate difficulty. One with a good exam strategy can easily crack the exam.

Faculty

The faculties of our college are quite good, experienced and helpful. They have good educational qualifications. Faculties guide each and every student. They are very punctual. Everyone can approach teachers when required.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Most of the professors are good here.The college covers the core subjects required for strong foundation in engineering. However the theoretical coverage is good the scope for practical exposure is still required.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible to participate for Internship placements from 3rd year and FTE offer from 4th year starting. Overall the placements scenarios are pretty good considering it to be a NIT. The overall highest package goes to around 80 lac plus and the average package lies around 18 to 20 lac for CSE Department. The opportunities are great with companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia coming for on campus opportunities providing agreat experience

Many companies visited our campus for placement..Top IT Companies that visited our campus is Samsung, Nvidia, Oracle , SAP Lab , Cisco etc Psu also visited for placement... Which includes BPCL, OIL India Limited,EIL, MECON, BEL, HPCL.. etc .. Top core company also visited here ... Which includes vedanta , jsw , Tata Power, Honda etc . Highest package is 82 lpa which is given by atlassian. Average is 6 lpa I am working in infratech company

Placement Experience:

From 5th sem students are allowed to participate in oncampus summar internship and from. 7th semester starting they are allowed for 6 month internship and Full time roles . There is a Training and placement Cell in our college there are some heads of this cell they are senior professors and it have final year students in senior coordinator position and 3 rd year study as probationary. Students bring the companies which fulfills the criteria of TNP cell and each company have their own eligibility criteria and selection procedure. Mostly companies allows 6 cgpa without any active backlog students . But some high paying companies requires 7 or more cgpa . In 3rd year Cisco , microsoft, public sapiens, Tech Mahindra, Accenture ,Oracle and many more companies visited in our campus and hired good amounts of students for summer internship and mostly offers full time role as ppo to students. In 4th year a lots of company like Novartis, amazon, flipkart,aditya birla, Cisco , Deloitte, oracle,ukg, Motorola, siemens , IBM and many more startups visited college and hired .Some paid 15+ CTC and some 6 to 10 CTC . Almost 40% of students are placed till December this year from each branch . Personally I'm planning for taking chances to get an online internship and then try to go for higher studies abroad in automation and robotics.

NIT Silchar Review: Campus, Career and Career Prospects

Placement Experience:

NIT Silchar has decent placement stat. Approx 75 percent student got placement from campus and they got decent package. In NIT Silchar from 7th semester students are eligible for placement and company comes whole year for recruiting. Approx 100 company visit the college throughout the year. In tech Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart and more companies come. For core L&T, Adani, Tata Steel and more companies come. For service base Infosys, TCS, Wipro will come and give good offer. Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

Not good at all placements. Worst placement college that is ever been. They couldn't get companies coming to this college after such long times. The only companies which comes gives packeges as low as 200000 per annum. which is worst in these present times.
