Remarks
The college is really very good. If you live in Mumbai or in nearby suburbs and you are not interested in pursuing engineering or medical fields, then this should be the first college you should consider. It has a very good infrastructure, faculty, reputation, and standard. The is located at the center of the city, so it is easy to travel here daily. The cost of education is a little higher, but it's worth the cost. Only thing they need to work on is after college placements and job opportunities for students
Course Curriculum Overview
The college was affiliated with the University of Mumbai while I was studying. Students were often asked about their feedback about the course and also about the teachers and the structure was reviewed from time to time as necessary. The internal tests were based on MCQ whereas semester-end exams were based on subjective questions. College gives enough time for exam preparations and teaching was almost always finished within stipulated time. Practice test were also carried out.
Placement Experience
Placements were good till 2014. Many companies including MNCs used to visit colleges, but the job opportunities faded away after that. In the last year of my study i.e. in 2017, not a single company visited the college. The same thing goes for internships as well.
College Events
TechStorm - Information Technology related event. Mathtrix - Mathematics related event Infinity - Physics related event Utsav and Aarohan - College festival These are some well known events organized in the college. However because of the busy schedule some events do not take place every year.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure was feasible till the college was affiliated with the University of Mumbai, but when it received autonomy, it went way up. So, the fee structure now is really expensive, but considering the facility provided in the college, it is worth it.
Fees and Financial Aid
I haven't availed myself of any scholarship or loan facility and I don't know about it. However, they are some provisions for students belonging to the backward category to get scholarships or freeship. One can contact the college office to know about it.
Campus Life
They are very good. Many seminars, meetings, talks, and interactive sessions are held in the college. These sessions are attended by celebrities, sportsmen, and other famous people most of whom are alumni of the college. The labs have a good infrastructure, but it's aging now. The sports tournaments take place which include both indoor and outdoor sports activities. The shooting range is one very famous among them. There is a badminton court in the college. The Natyavalay is also famous for Theatre arts. If one really wants to explore, then all such extracurricular activities are available in the college
Hostel Facilities
No. The college does not have any hostel, however, you can opt for other hostels in the nearby area. Dadar station is close to the college and Wadala locality is also very close, so if one needs a hostel, then he/she will have to go for the private hostel as it is not provided by the college
Alumni/Alumna
Yes. There is a group Alumni network that is very active in the college. They take into consideration the recent ongoing in the college and provide their useful input whenever required. While leaving the college, one can get their membership and become a part of them.
Admission
I took the admission for FYBSc (2012) and MSc Part 1(2015). During that time, there was an offline admission process where 3 lists were displayed based on merit. If a candidate's name is displayed on the first list, then that candidate was allotted a seat for the admission, if seats remain vacant after the first list, then the second list would be displayed with the candidate's name for the remaining seats. If seats still remain vacant even after the second list, then the only third list would be displayed. People whose names appeared on the list were required to confirm their admission by the second day of the list being displayed.
Faculty
They are the most helpful when it comes to solving students' doubts. You can ask them any doubt and they were happy to help you solve them, even if you ask them repetitively, they would still help. I especially love Mathematics and Computer Science department and the faculties. They take into consideration students' convenience and arrange lectures or meetings. They would personally help their students in their academic projects. All one needs to do is approach them and ask.
