Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is dated and virtually useless for the current day and age. The exam process rewards those who are willing to mug up the whole textbook word by word. There is little to no flexibility to choose electives or projects. A lot of emphases must be given to self-learning to come out of the college with any kind of employability.
Placement Experience
The TPO is amazing. There are more than 140 companies that come to our college for placement drives. The placement % is more than 80 and it's fantastic. There are ample internship and job opportunities in our college
College Events
There are 4 fests. Inspiron- technical, Impetus- technical, fiesta- cultural, Milagrow- cultural. These fests are pretty good. We have a lot of fun and enjoy ourselves. The parent university funds these fests.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is very very reasonable. Annually, we have to pay 25K including exam fees. Reval fees are a little high though. The government has subsided the fees for our college and it's very cheap compared to other colleges
Fees and Financial Aid
The Karnataka government waives the fees for SC/STs. For Religious minorities, the MHRD gives a scholarship of 20K/annum. The govt gives a scholarship of 25K to people with 2A, and 3A reservations. Apart from this, there are plenty of scholarships like SBI and LIC
Campus Life
The labs are decent, sports facilities are non-existent. There are clubs like Adhamya and IEEE which organizes a lot of extracurricular activities like treasure hunts, coding competitions, cleaning drives, etc.
Alumni/Alumna
UVCE has a huge history and naturally, there are some outstanding people who have come out of this college. There are some industry leaders and Bharat Ratna awardees. Etc. Overall, the quality of students coming out is very good
Admission
Students had to write the CET(Common Entrance Exam) conducted by the KEA(Karnataka Entrance Exam) which is conducted in the month of May every year. Results were announced in late-may. The KEA published a merit list(Ranking). Based on the rank, there is an online counseling process. Based on my rank, I got to this college.
Faculty
The faculty is pretty ordinary. Most of the lectures assigned to us were by guest faculty and their knowledge was pretty low. There are some people in the college who are amazing and there are people who have poor knowledge as well
