Course Curriculum Overview
?I chose RNSIT BE CSE for its strong software focus. It prepares us well for real-world coding, though we need more hands-on projects and less theory. VTU exams are frequent, properly timed, and moderately difficult.
Internships Opportunities
Top companies like Bosch and Amazon offer paid SDE internships with good stipends. A key project involved full-stack development, where I built a backend system for a leave management portal using Node.js and API integrations to automate request workflows and improve efficiency.
Placement Experience
Placements begin in the 6th semester. Top recruiters include Adobe, Amazon, and TCS. The highest package is 56 LPA, averaging 7 LPA. With a 90% placement rate, I plan to secure a full-stack SDE role after grad.
Fees and Financial Aid
I paid ?1,12,410 for the college fees as I got in through KCET. Along with that I paid ?4000 for book fees. And also ?15000 skill development fees. The fees are lower for other categories. Scholarships are also available.
Campus Life
RNSIT campus life is vibrant. Pantheon (Nov) and Parichay (May) are the main fests. The library boasts vast engineering books and journals. Classrooms have good projectors. We have great sports and active tech clubs.
Admission
?I applied to colleges like BMSCE and BIT, but chose RNSIT for its strong CSE placement record and tech culture. I didn't make it to BMSCE because my KCET rank fell just short of their cutoff. Admission here is primarily through KCET or COMEDK, which most students prefer. The KCET cutoff for CSE usually hovers around the 10k-15k rank mark. Overall, the counseling and admission process was smooth and straightforward.
Faculty
Good teaching staff who guide the students well. Theres a total of 3 exams which are held, two internal tests and one sem end exam for each sem. The faculties prepares the students well for these exams.
Night Life
Hostel in-timings are strict, usually around 8 PM. The library, gym, and campus cafes close by 7 PM. To unwind, a quick evening scooter ride around RR Nagar is great. The area has nice cafes and feels very safe at night.
