Remarks
Excellent in terms of Return On Investment, setback for research enthusiasts. Plenty of time for personal developments. There is lack of resources and information in the college but self conscious can assure their availability.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is inclined on the theoretical side. 2 mid semesters are held, of which the marks of best are taken, with one end semester and practical vivas. The first semester has only 3 theory papers and 3 practicals while the subsequent semesters have 5 subjects and 2 practicals (tentative).
Placement Experience
The placement and job opportunities are not upto the mark. About 50 per cent of the students remain unplaced, a matter of concern, The placed students have an overall average of 4 LPA which is quite mediocre in itself. One is totally reliant on Off Campus placements, or other Competitive examinations. Internship are NOT provided by the college, though it is mandatory for the students to do internship. My overall experience is that the college is Okayish and stipend is available for poor, reserved students.
College Events
Very few events are cebrated though. To list a few:- 1.Technical Fest The events Sandhaan, Triveni are celebrated in the month of March, February 2.Dhatvika - The Metal Fest The Metallurgy department organizes it, but the competitions and quizzes are open to all. 3. Techie of the Year Conducted every year where the students present various innovative ideas and exhibit them. 4. Fresher of th Year It is the Cultural Fest of the College, comprising of a series of events where the students present themselves through their own talent. Though this plathera of events seem very fascinating, but these are just some forceful hallucinations.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is extremely feasible for Graduate courses. Merely ?60, 000 a year would be the charge for accommodation as well as tuition of a student. So the overall expense of a student is merely ?1,00,000
Fees and Financial Aid
The e-Kalyan fellowship is offered by the college for all the SC,ST and OBC category students and Genark students with low income. The TFW students also enjoy full tuition fee waiver. The college is also supportive in some ways for providing loans to the needy candidates
Campus Life
The extra curricular activities are not at par. The labs are equipped with age-old instruments and machinery, though their renovation has been started. The students have to make their own arrangements for any programmes being held outside the campus. The college also lacks the zeal of Research. The sportspeople are often neglected.
Hostel Facilities
The Hostel infrastructure is way much better as compared to other colleges. 1st and 2nd year hostels are 5 person sharing rooms, 3rd year hostel are 2 people sharing and Final year hostels are single occupancy. Mess food is good, deliciuos initially and just edible towards the end of the year. The campus and hostels lack WiFi, so students arrange for themselves. The sanitation of the Bathrooms and toilets are but a matter of concern.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni is network is the best part of the college. The college has a worldwide alumni base even to the foreign countries like the US and the UK. Some Alumnis are even directors of many prestigious institutions, and PSUs. The seniors are also helpful, despite the lack communication with the 1st year students.
Admission
Got Admission through JCECE exam, and secured a decent CML rank. The entrance exam was held till 2018 but now, only the merit list is prepared on the basis of JEE(Main) rank. One has to qualify JEE (MAIN) in order to get admit to the Graduate course program.
Faculty
The college is good in terms of infrastructure. One would like the lodging and flooding facilities the most in the college. It has a very vast, 450 acres in the outskirts of Dhanbad city. The campus is very far from the city center, thus recreational tasks are limited. The students have ample time to prepare for competitive examinations. The Alumni is base of the college is a very fascinating part of the college.
