What Students Say
Likes
- I love my college campus, it is very big and airy. I always go to campus for evening walks and sometimes to play badminton.
- The faculty of our college is very experienced and very soft spoken to us. They always ask if we have any doubts or problems in the session or not. They even help us if we contact them online, they are very willing and helpful.
- Our fests are very good and engaging. There are plenty of sports festival and plenty of events like video games or laser tag or paintball. There are also different days for example traditional day, mismatch day things like that.
Dislikes
- The things I dislike about my college is the infrastructure of our college the classrooms are pretty old and the benchs are not that good in the condition. The boards and e boards have sometimes problem functioning.
- Our labs have very old monitors and CPU's. Most of the time they don't work and also there are plenty of CPU's where the important software are not installed. The labs are small and doesn't always hold the whole class.
- Bathrooms are not that clean and also the drinking water is sometimes also not clean. Over the time many of my friends have gotten a little bit sick due to that water.
Course Curriculum Overview
As a student who took science in 11th standard I had always been intrigued about computers and languages. So for me choosing Information Technology was the best decision at this college because they had all the subjects that I wanted to learn throughout my course. This helps me getting the advantage of knoweldge in advance so that when i go to real-world I am able to cope with them. They can improve in the practical part of the course where the teach coding in more of the practical form rather than text book teaching because I think it helps in the student to grow in that area both physically and mentally. The frequency and timming of the exams are perfect because they do not hinder with the learning and syllabus finshing part. As soon as its our practical exams time we have finished our whole syllabus and started for mock tests.
Internships Opportunities
There were plenty of companies that gave internships for example INFOSYS, KPMG, Tech Mahindra, TCS. They paid the stipend of 10000 to 15000 inr. There are plenty other companies that came but most of them were giving no stipend for the internships they were unpaid internships. There were tasks like we needed to train the regression model to give them the data and they would process and refine it. We made the projects on healthcare and cleaning of data.
Placement Experience
When the students come in the Seventh Semester they are elligible for campus placements. There are many companies that come for the campus placement for example KPMG, FIVER, TCS, MICROSOFT, INFOSYS, Tech Mahindra. They all offer a package of average 870000 inr. The highest package that was offered was by microsoft for 2400000 lpa. There is a 95% of students who got placed rn and there are still companies who are coming and taking students. So the probability of students getting placed is 97%. My plans after getting degree and a job is to live happily and enjoy my life.
Fees and Financial Aid
Every year we pay the fees of 220000 inr to the college and this is excluded from the exam fees, around the time of our end semester exams we pay the fees of 5500 inr for 5 subjects and this is the exam fees without any backlog. If there is a backlog then every two backlogs you have to 2500 inr more. The 220000 inr contains of tution fees of 200000 inr, caution fees is 10000 inr and registeration fees and admission fees and development fees is included in the 10000 inr. There are plenty of scholarships for women, management, lower caste. There are plenty number of scholarships for the disabled students as well and it also includes monthly stipend to students who are of low category.
Campus Life
The Bhartiyam fest occurs in the mid of feburary and goes on till the first week of the march. We have a huge library there are all kinds of books present there for every branch in the college of engineering. There are also e books that are available on the site of the college . These books are very helpful in the unit test and pracitcal exams as well. The facility and the condition of our classrooms and labs is not that much good the classrooms are old and the benchs are very uncomfortable. The labs are not productive at all. The CPU's are not that developed to support the coding of this generation. They don't have most of the softwares and the ability to train models and products that we make. Our campus have verious types of sports for example football, badminton, basketball, kho-kho. There is a rotract club, leo club, blotic club, dance club. These all are really great clubs and.
Hostel Facilities
I lived in boys hostel for one whole year the experience there was very disappointing. We shared a three bed in one single room it had three tables three chairs and three cupboards. There was wifi that was given to us but it never worked. The bathrooms were all very poorly treated and most of the taps were not working a lot of times. The meal was the worst in our hostel because they used to make very spicy or someitmes very sweet food there was always some scarcity of the food. Most of the times we have found insects in our own food and we complained about it but there were most of the times where it went to vain. The registration was quite easy we just have to give them the proof that we are the students of the college and then pay the whole fees in one go. The fees was 120000 inr.
Admission
I applied to IIT Bombay, Delhi Technical University but because my marks were too low on their entrance test I was not able to sit in the interview round of them. I got no confirmation from these colleges. I chose this college over other college because this college had everything i needed for my course. Their circulam was the best overall. So to get into my college you will need to give its entrance exam and on the basis of what you score on the exam you will get the rank and the date and time on which you will be called. So according to that rank they will call you and give you options on which branch they can take also they keep a track record on which branch has got how many seats left. The basic cutoff of the exam is 15000 rank.
Faculty
So for every subject that we have there is one teacher that is great in teaching that subject. so for every one teacher there are 60-68 students in total. The relationship between the faculty and the students is very good and with a proper discipline. Its because they are very helpful to us throughout our classes and also during our exams they are very helpful and always there for us. There are a few faculty members who are not that much of liking because they don't understand the problems of the students. They think that its easy for them but it might not be easy for the students who are learning about it. There are total four types of exam. There are 2 unit tests for every subject. Then around the last 2 semesters there are practical exams and then at last the end semester exams which are of 60 marks. Almost all the students pass the exam except for 2-3 students who perform very poorly.
Night Life
Our night campus life is pretty good. There is a college gym thats provided and also at night the grounds are open so we can walk there or do some running or just sit and have great conversations. The library closes at 7pm but you can still sit in the cafeteria till 11 am then the college campus is closed off. There are hostels for boys and girls as well although for boys the hostel is just for one year but girls have the hostel for 4 years. There are total of 3 girls hostels, The whole campus is filled with security guard at every checkpoint there are at least two security guards who will call up the hostels to know if there is a delivery expected or not. It is completely safe to roam in campus in night
