- the school of technology building, main building for the btech course is still in development. the infrastructure of the university is pretty good
- the teaching methods of teacher is also pretty good for a few teachers only
Dislikes
- many of the teachers feel like they don't know anything about the subject and are present there due to internal connections in the university
- the student boys and girls ratio in btech is quite less, there are 10 girls in a class of 40 boys, making up a total of 50 students
- there are no good equipments or better labs or better placements in the university as far as i know
Course Curriculum Overview
the course curriculum does feels to be outdated, as most of the indian colleges btech courses are, the technology is improving day by day, and as a student i feel like, the course should be revised again as it is a computer science course, as the new gen course. We are still learning those outdated books for no reason which will lead to nothing, and on the placement day, 95% of the students won't even get a good placements, and most of them would be unemployed and would go further for mtech or would start preparation of GATE exam until they get old, and get bald. I had interests in computer science and got a descent score in JEE Mains, and could not qualify it, that's why i joined this course in this college and no other reason specific. The curriculum seems to be halfly baked till now or outdated to me, like it was meant for the batch of 2010's batch students, but they forgot it is 2026 rn. The improvements in the course could be adding the subjects of AI & ML in the course and adding good labs in the university, and the teacher should be more knowledgable in their respective field. The frequency and timing of my exams was very weird in Mid semester exams, they took all other subjects exams before except maths, and they postponed that exam to 2 months and took it just one day before the end sem exam.
Internships Opportunities
There were a few internship opportunities provided by the college, in the winter vacation, they sent links and information of the internships programs in the university whatsapp groups. The companies involved are E&N, Skill India Training. There was a internship program provided by the college in AI & ML, Python and web development course.
Placement Experience
The placements of this particular college are not good as much as i have heard about the placements of this university's before batches. They are still fighting and trying to get better placements for the senior batches which I wish they get it done, or i dont know what will happen in my time. The 7th or 8th semester is the one from which the students become eligible for campus placements. The name of the companies which offered were TCS, Infosys, HCL, Amazon, ICICI Bank etc. the average package of the college is about 4-5 LPA. Onlu 50-60% of the students or lesser are getting placements in the college. My plans are to do Mtech afterwards i complete my btech course in this college.
Fees and Financial Aid
the semester wise fees of the course is 50000, in which tuition fees is 40k and other fees are 10k. admission fees - 2000 caution money - 5000 degree fee - 750 university magazine - 100 student council - 100 which makes 1 lakh per every year
Campus Life
There were only a few fests in the college, and they didn't even gave freshers party to the new batch students, which is very weird. The central library of the university is actually nice and easy, and it has a good numerous different amounts of books are available in the library. The sports and extracurricular activities like NCC happens in the university which is actually fine, and very fun and good for the students in the college. There are online student portals of every student in the university, which is tracks students records, attendance, syllabus, result, etc.
Admission
I choose this college because it is a government college, and it was near my home, and i felt like it was good as per my JEE mains rank. I only took admission in this college only, and didn't try in any other college except this. The admission processs of this university was very simple, and it was based on reservation mostly, and i though I would not be qualified for the admission on first glance, but their were very less entries on the day of my admission as per the number of seats. The number of seats were 30 that day, and students present their that day were 25 approx. as much as i remember.
Faculty
faculty teachers are quite friendly and respectable, they teach nicely, except a few who don't know shit about their subject, are there just because of internal connections most probably, and eating salaries from the university. The course structure is quite big, as i had to pass 7 subjects in my first semester only, the college provides you with international language learning also. The question papers were very toughly designed for no reason, and most of it felt like it was out of syllabus or something. The teachers did quite a tough marking in question papers, especially physics, that bloody teacher cut so many marks in my paper, which led to a lower score of mine in the first sem itself.
Interview Experience
No, there weren't any much group discussions in the college, or interview questions till now as im in second semester right now, but there were definitely many discussions for test patterns for written papers of the mid and end sem. The criteria of admission were the JEE mains score, for UK Gen it was 73 percentile this year, and it was lower for UK SC/ST of 60 percentile, as much as i know, the JEE mains required for outside uttarakhand students were higher than the uttarakhand residents of 80 percentile this year. They asked for Permanent Address proof for admission and jee mains rank, with 10th and 12th certificate marksheet, character certificate along with migration certificate verification.
Night Life
The gym is only in the hostel area, which opens on 5pm to 8 pm in the hostel only, those are not accesible by the non hostellers, their are no outdoor gyms. There is no cafeteria in the college, even though they have made one, but their is no worker which which works their in the canteen. Their is a specific building for the library, which also consits of the classrooms for many students of different courses. The hostel closes at 10 pm at night, as well as the campus also for the students. The famous hangout places are the chai ki tapri which is near boys hostel and many students come their to eat and drink, because their is no main cafe in the college campus.
