Remarks
Well, every thing I had to say, is all said and written above. I hope my review helps you out regarding your though process regarding admission in the MBA program in Doon University.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum of my course is alright. I mean, certain more things can be involved in it, especially in the Finance department. But, overall, the course curriculum is all ok. The exam structure is also quite right except for the fact that they release the datesheet at the last moment. So, we all have to be on our toes and all prepared for the exams. The academic calendar is provided so as to be ready for anything and everything.
Placement Experience
The placement is not up to the mark, very few companies come for the recruitment. And then, when certain companies do come, students don't turn up. So, it's a two-way street. But yes, they do provide internships; this year, they tried providing us internships at Tata Motors, British Paints, Future groups like Big Bazaar, Pantaloons, but due to the pandemic, everything was stopped. They provide internships in certain PSUs like BHEL, ONGC but beware! You should have a "thorough knowledge" of internships in PSUs. I've applied for an internship in ONGC through the college only. Let's see what is the outcome.
College Events
It's a happening college, lots of activities happen in this college. You've got your annual fest, cricket tournaments, nukkad naatak, volleyball and basketball tournaments, then you have departmental fests too, you've got your seminars taking place, elections etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Feasible. It's a government college so the fees is not that expensive, overall. For my course, since it's a self-financed course, it's a bit expensive (1.48 lakh approx. for two years) But, it's alright. See, the professors, certain professors, are helpful and genuinely good, the topics in the subjects of the syllabus are relevant and the environment of the campus is good, no violence, no chaos, no noise, just greenery in abundance. So, I guess, it's feasible.
Fees and Financial Aid
No. I have not opted for any of these things. But it does provide these things. Kindly refer to the official site or call the office premises or visit office premises for more information after this pandemic gets settled.
Campus Life
Like I said, the cam[us is nice, neat nd clean, full of green lush. There's no disturbance, no violent atmosphere, it's all calm and composed. The gender ratio is also good. You can see equal amounts of girls and boys around the campus. And like I've already mentioned.
Hostel Facilities
No. I have not opted for the hostel facility. I'm a local, living just five minutes away from the campus. But those living in the hostel say they are not up to the mark. New girls' hostel is under construction for more accommodation.
Alumni/Alumna
Well, I haven't conversed with them, yet. I've conversed with a few and I liked only one of my seniors. She is really helpful and a good, genuine advisor. Her name's Mansi Mall.
Admission
Well, for my PG degree course i.e MBA, a merit list was made on the basis of CAT/MAT/CMAT scores of the students taken in that particular year. Then, the shortlisted students were called for their documents filling and verification. Then, after everything was checked and verified, we had our group discussions as well as personal interview rounds and then, the final list was prepared of the students making it through the entrance.
Faculty
The faculty is good, especially, the HR and Marketing faculty so, in case of any troubles or queries, the professors are there to help you out and guide you, and not just on a professional front, but on personal fronts too; sharing their own experiences and everything with us, things become much clearer. You just need to be a good student, participating and taking initiatives, that's all.
