Remarks

College of Engineering trivandrum is the first engineering college in kerala since 1934. Cet has a consistent pass percentage. And most of the university rank held by CETIANS. Ragging is strictly punishable in college.

Course Curriculum Overview

I studied the syllabus of kerala University, Now this college follows the curriculum of APJ Abdul Kalam Kerala technological University. There are 6 semesters(2 semester per year) in both syllabus. Exam is the perfect application skill analysis

Placement Experience

College of Engineering Trivandrum is the 1st and best engineering college in kerala. So most of the multi national companies and eminent companies in the world are came to college to hire students. CGPU unit cordinate the placent activities.

College Events

CET is the best college in academics as well as events. The most rennoved event in the college is Dwani. Dwani is selebrated in college in two days participating all india. Drishti is a technical fest, which is the best technical event in kerala.

Fee Structure And Facilities

College of engineering trivandrum is a government college in technical education. So the fees is according to the kerala goverment standards. Tution fee for a year is 12008 rupees. At the time of admission we should pay about 10000 rupees except tuition fee for PTA fund, library fund, department fund.

Fees and Financial Aid

College of engineering trivandrum is a government technical engineering institute, so CET students get all the government offered scholarship like national merit cum means scholarship(mcms), e grantz, post matric etc.

Campus Life

There are 9 engineering departments, MBA and MCA in college of engineering trivandrum. Each of the department have its own labs. In MCA there are 4 labs. Software Lab, database/networking lab, microprocessor lab and project lab. Also a research lab.

Hostel Facilities

The college have hostel facilities for boys and girls sepeately. College hostel fee for boys and girls is 4000 rupees per month including food, accimmodation and wifi. Two sharing rooms are there. I didnt choose hostel but rent a home for 10000rupees with 9 friend. And we self cooked, so the cost of living is 2000 per month.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

College of engineering trivandrum have a large network of alumnis, they are working in delightful positions of private and government feild. The CETAA(cet alumni association) coordinate the alumni activities. Gems scholarship is contributed by CETAA.

Admission

All kerala MCA entrance exam is carried out, according to the rank we choose college options. Then go directly to college and after some processes admission successfully obtained. Admission fee were about 15000(including all fee).

Faculty

Very expert teachers and supporting staffs. All the teachers have academic excellency and subject expertise. There are 4 associate professors and 6 assistant professors. In the software lab there are 2 facilities to support students in activities.

Placement Experience:

For Integrated MCA, students become eligible for placements since the 9th semester. For Btech, its 7th semester. Some of the companies that visited our college are SOTI, UST, Leopard Technologies, Safran Digit. There are many other companies that we can apply to but those drives are not conducted at our college like experion technologies and G10X technologies. Our college is the only college in Kerala from where students are hired by Safran Digit. I have gotten placement in G10X technoologies private limited.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choosed MCA at Nirmala College due to several reasons: • It is a course which is open to anyone who has passed any bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% and above. The only prerequisite is that one need to attend the annual LBS MCA entrance examination to secure admission to this course. • The syllabus of MCA in this college is affiliated with that of MG University, Kottayam. It is a vast syllabus covering various applications of computer science including programming in various languages such as C, Java, PHP, Python, data structures, algorithms, statistics, data mining, machine learning, software engineering, networking, etc. • The course is theoretically good but practically it doesn't really equip all students with enough knowledge and understanding to be placed in a good IT company. Some portions could be excluded from various theory subjects such as Networking with TCp/Ip and Algorithms Analysis.

Exploring the Pathways of Excellence

Placement Experience:

students typically become eligible for campus placements strarting from the 7th semester of their engineering program. preparation for placements starts in the 6th semester. Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, IBM, Amazon etc. the numbers of offers made varies each year, but on average, each major recruiting company makes 5 to 20 offfers during the placement season. Highest package can go upto 15-20 LPA offered by companies like Amazon, oracleetc. and average package range between INR 4-6 LPA like profiles offered are Software Developer, Data Analyst, Project Manager etc. Approximately 70-80% of eligible students secure placements through campus recruitment drives. My pan is to secure a job and after getting stable then trying to do my wn business in this field.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have completed BCA so I followed its corresponding post graduation . There are 7 faculties at Calicut University campus for MMCAand a Lab assistant. The faculties must complete post graduation or any higher education (PhD or net qualified). In MCA exams are conducted by sem vise so there should be a semester exam after each. It is not that much easy to pass these exams so need to focus on each subjects thoroughly

Life at CET

This college is the best government college in Kerala. It has been consistently first in KIRF ranking. It has very cheap fees. The campus is very beautiful and spacious (about 200 acres). My best choice of colleges very IITs and NITs like most people. I couldn't crack JEE. I only applied to this college because I had very high ranking in KEAM exam and was confident of acceptance. KEAM exam is a lot easier to crack than JEE. It has basic higher secondary school syllabus. To get my course you would have to be around 700th rank. To get other courses in my college you can have rank as low as 20k....Read More
