Course Curriculum Overview

2

I don't like the curriculum.... there are only 2 subjects out of 70-80 subjects to study that are data structure and DAA, else are just of no use , and we are wasting our time doing that giving exams to score good and get a degree , instead of teaching us the real skills which are required by the industry, no AI, no data science nothing... Do on your own with no guidance... Good luck...

Internships Opportunities

1

I don't have any such idea about it as i'm in the second year , but as much as i have heard , the college doesn't offer any internship as such and no paid internships... the internships provided at the end of year are of 1 week and doen't provide any experience... basic knowledge only and the student itself has to search for the internships and to apply on its own

Placement Experience

3

The placements right now are not that good as there is a large competition in IT sector and hence the placement is not that good.... Not even 25% of final yr students get placed and those placed , are placed at very average LPA... about 4.5-5 LPA . Hardly 2 or 3 students get package of 20+LPA . If not placed on campus then one can go for GATE exam and can sit for master's degree and then will get a better placement otherwise off campus placements. After 4th or 5 th semester students can sit for the campus placements. Companis like TCS, ACCENTURE, HCL, TATA, GOOGLE, MICROSOFT , etc visits but the number of offers made are very less about 15%-20% of total students sitting for campus placements. Highest package are about 25-30LPA average package is 5 LPA percentage of students getting placed are about 20-25% through campus my plan is to get the on campus placement... if somehoe I fail, the off campus placements...

Fees and Financial Aid

So our college, Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College, well known institute of NCR. It's complete course fees for B.Tech in Information Technology is about 4.76 Lakhs, starts with 1 lakh 42 thousand for first year and then decreases by a little amount. And there are many other fees as well like, Tuition fees and development fees is 1,11,256/-, then we have caution fees of five thousands(5,000/-) which is refundable at the completion of the full course, then we have registration fees of 1,500/- which is included in the tuition fee, medical charges 1,500/- , book bank fees 2,900/-, activity fee one time 10,000/- , career planning and placement fees one time 10,000/- , which is total of 1,42,156 /-. The fees for batchmates for categories other than mine(general) is almost the same. Well there is a chance to fill the scholarship for other categories. Pragati Scholarship for girls, Saksham Scholarship... these are available at our college with an amount of about 50k I think.

Campus Life

3

Overall experience is good with campus life but there are no annual fest college fest no concerts nothing... only study... some fest takes place at a very small scale... inside the college only no other college students are allowed.... Clubs and societies are there to help us but again they are also learning and are not that good to guide... enough books are available in the library but the library lacks number of seats... I think there would have been more libraries or otherwise a larger area for library to accomodate atleast 20-25% of the total college strength... but it can't accomodate 5% even... good facilities...3 ACs and projector, screen, green board... all are there... again Lack of internet in many areas... Sports and other extracurricular activies are enough.. but the thing is again good for those who play... to those who don't play and are willing to play are paid no attention. yes many...student run clubs and societies... for art craft singing dancing technical societies for machine learning, programming, cloud computing, web designing etc... enough of societies and clubs

Admission

So, I hadn't applied for maly colleges... I applied for Jaypee, KIET, and AKGEC , so the main difference I saw was that the crowd of JAYPEE was from posh families... they were the one mainly there to enjoy the college life and to show off... while there were many who were there to build their career as well... In KIET , the crowd was okay but the locality wasn't that good as it was expected... It was in the under developed area , but in AKGEC the crowd is very good.... most of the students are focused and the locality is very good... it,s on NH24, and the environment of the college is very fascinating. I love being here... The admission process is : 1) Based on 12th merit , Management Quota in this you have to give a simple test of physics chemistry and mathematics , total 30 questions 10 each subject and 30-40 mins to answer them... all mcqs and then there will be a Personal Interview round of 10-15 mins. General questions are asked... mostly religious or historical ones 2) Based on UPTAC Councelling By your JEE score you can sit in the councelling and will get the college as per your percentile.

Faculty

4

A good number of faculty is there. Faculty is very good enough... knowledgeable.... they are literally the best part of college. That is why the students here are good at academic. They give their 100% to teach us... apart from some faculties.... there is also a good faculty to student ratio. best faculties for me are: Bandana Sharma ma'am for physics first yr. , neha garg ma'am for electronics first yr. , parul ma'am for chemistry first yr., Shikha ma'am for PPS first yr , anju ma'am for coa second yr., madhup sir for ds, as I'm in third sem right now, I can tell this much. There are generally 1 Sessionals and 1 Pre UT, along with class assesments and class revisions... ehich is good enough for our preparations.

Interview Experience

2

Yes there was an Interview with the Dean first year... The topics were: How religious you are ? How many Panipat battles were held? Who wrote Ramayan? How many days did Mahabharat took place? These kind of topics were there... so to those whosoever are going on 12th merits , management quota , do prepare these historical and religious topics... (of your own religion mainly)

Night Life

1

Nothing as such to write in this... nightlife is for those who are in hostels that too depends on the students, no initiative by the college There is no late night activity... only a VYOMINI for girls hostler as a dandia event, freshers... which ends by 9pm, not even very exciting

Students are eligible for campus placement from 6th semester. But proper company placements and official paid internships start in 7th semster. However it is highly dependant on your luck to get placed in earlier semesters. Highest package till now is 21 LPA but the actual average is around 4 LPA only. Profiles offered are software engineer and related only. Till now (after 7th semster of our seniors is over) around 50 students are placed. My plans are to do a job and simultaneously do MBA after co no completing a degree.
