Course Curriculum Overview

5

It was a childhood dream to do law and thus I am pursuing that. Also law is one field where we can pursue litigation right after the studies means in a way it's an entity of own. Thus, i am happy that we are a part of university which gives equal importance to litigation and corporate law.

Placement Experience

5

Packages aren't as good or big as NLUs as 4-5 lakhs is median and just 25% students gets placements from University. Most students though go for litigation and I am also going to do the same as this is how I want to build my career and take it forward. Even LLM is also an option and GLA University is the one from where I will do, if I plan to do masters.

Fees and Financial Aid

GLA University Mathura offers over 50 courses and law is one of them and I am pursuing Law from here and paying 1.43 lakhs a year for the same. The fees is 1.6 lakhs a year but since I got 10% scholarship for girl child which is directed by UP Government, my fees for reduced to 1.43 lakhs a year. The hostel fees is 1.2 lakhs for a two seater AC room and it includes meals as well.

Campus Life

5

110 acres of campus which has various buildings, subways, cafes and gardens and open spaces. There are a number of hostel blocks as well in our university and that also helps out cause for students of different cities and states as we have majority students of outside Mathura. Many competitions which are non academic are organized in our annual fest Spandan.

Hostel Facilities

5

Delhi High court and Patiala Court of Delhi lawyers and chambers have connections with our university and they invite our students to do internship under them. Even university have made it mandatory for students to do internships during every semester break.

Admission

Admission process here is through GLAET. Almost all courses are enrolled through this method and even that is how I got admission in GLA University. Just like JEE Scores are considered for engineering, our university considers CLAT scores too. I was rejected under CLAT and therefore I took admission here.

Faculty

5

Every law faculty here are so vast experienced that one can ask them anything on subject and they will not even refer and answer. The way they solve the cases and help us prepare for the Moots and MUNs as even though they are student led activity, they give their 100 percent on it. Professor Anish Jain is the best person in our university.

Night Life

5

Hostel here are best as even though 8 pm is curfew time, i don't mind as most of the campus is litup till late night. We are free to use campus facilities for as long as we want. Even the library is opened till 1 am and so are various sports facilities as well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There has lot of visits like court visit, parliament visit, etc The curriculum provides a basic foundation of theoretical knowledge that is useful for understanding core concepts and for pursuing further academic studies, such as higher education or competitive examinations. It helps develop analytical thinking and subject awareness. There is significant scope for improvement in the course curriculum and teaching methods. The syllabus should be updated regularly to include recent developments, practical modules, project-based learning, internships, workshops, and skill-enhancement courses.Examinations are conducted frequently in the form of internal assessments, mid-semester exams, and end-semester exams, which sometimes creates academic pressure for students. The timing of exams is often closely packed, leaving limited time for proper preparation and revision. In terms of difficulty, the exams are generally of moderate level, though some subjects are challenging due to lengthy syllabi and conceptual depth.

Pre placements starts from 4th year and post placements too happens as those who remain to get any placements are also assisted. Law jobs are anyways less so percentage of students getting jobs is also quite less as batch size is also 100+.

Corporate Law is a subjects but no corporate placements as law firms were the sole contributors of our university. They gave as many placements as 30% students were placed and that too with very thin packages. So, university needs to fix this just like they have fixed every single thing at the campus.

Placement Experience:

Placements for Law are not comparable to the tech courses so far at GLA. Every year combining BBA LLB and BA LLB around 300 and I don't think even 100 are placed. So, GLA University will have to find a way to get atleast half the students find placements here and because I know my chances of getting placements are slim, I will be opting for doing LLM after I am done with LLB in 2027.

The college provide students with PDF lectures which focuses on personality development which includes confidence building, speaking and listening skills, etc. They also give tips for a better resume and how to give interview and prepare us for interviews by organising mock interviews. 5th year students are the focused students for the campus placement. Some students choose to be an advocate and others may prepare for higher studies and or prepare for judiciary and other civil services examinations. I personal preference to go for the one field which can open my ways for other field stoo.

Placements currently as I am in my final year and couldn't find placements through the firm's which came here for placements. LLM is also going on in my mind but that is only if I am able to get in top colleges or will continue to serve as a lawyer.
