Course Curriculum Overview
I would rate the course curriculum as fairly relevant and moderately comprehensive. It covers most of the essential areas required in the field, though there are some parts that could be updated. The curriculum does a decent job in building a strong base for both industry and higher studies. For example: Practical labs / internships help in understanding real-world challenges. Project work encourages teamwork and problem-solving. The emphasis on presentations and assignments indirectly improves communication and soft skills.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are an important part of our course, and the Training & Placement Cell plays a key role in helping students connect with companies. These opportunities usually start coming in from the 5th or 6th semester TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture (roles: Software Developer Intern, System Analyst Intern). Most of these internships come with a stipend in the range of ?5,000 – ?15,000 per month, though in some startups it can be unpaid but with strong learning exposure. These internships not only help us apply classroom knowledge in real-world scenarios but also improve soft skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. In some cases, good performance in internships has even converted into pre-placement offers (PPOs).
Placement Experience
Placements in my college are moderately good and improving every year. The training & placement cell is active in inviting companies and conducting pre-placement workshops such as aptitude tests, mock interviews, and resume-building sessions.
Fees and Financial Aid
The university is providing numerous courses to the students which they can pursue. In my course which is computer science and engineering the fees is 1,40,00/- per semester which is 2,80,000/- per year. Our university gives the students a chance to grab good amount of scholarship upto 60-70% on their tuition fees as per the courses demand. To get the scholarship every student must have to appear for the entrance exam of LPU which is LPUNEST. The scholarship is given to you on the basis of students performance in the entrance exam. There are four category(A, B, C, D) of scholarship division according to the marks. In my case I got 60% scholarship by scoring 360 out off 400. So my tuition fees decreased to 56,000 per semester from 1,40,000 per semester. There are some other charges which I had to pay like 10,000 for the seat booking in the counselling process which was adjusted laterally. There i also has to pay 4500 per semester for the exam. If you interested in some sports or something and you want proper coaching and assistance you can avail those facilities by paying some money. In the university there is no reservation for any cast. Some of my batch mates have different courses like agriculture, pharmacy, law etc, their fees structure and scholarship amount is little bit different.
Campus Life
My overall campus life has been a balanced mix of academics, cultural activities, and social bonding. The atmosphere is friendly, and the opportunities for both personal growth and skill development are quite good. The college hosts both annual cultural festivals and technical fests, which are among the highlights of campus life. Access to online journals and e-resources (like IEEE, J-Gate, or NPTEL depending on the tie-ups).
Hostel Facilities
Rooms are usually shared (2–3 students), with a basic setup of a bed, study table, chair, cupboard, and fan. Some hostels provide Wi-Fi, hot water geysers, and attached bathrooms, while others have common washrooms. Cleaning staff maintain the rooms and corridors regularly, though the quality varies from hostel to hostel.
Admission
I chose this college mainly because of a mix of academic reputation, faculty quality, and campus environment. During my research, I found that the faculty here is more approachable, the course structure is more balanced between theory and practice, and the placement opportunities were relatively better compared to some of the other colleges I had applied to.
Faculty
Teaches with real-life examples and makes even the toughest topics interesting. I liked them because they never discouraged questions and always made time for extra clarification. One of my favorite faculty is Seema mam, she teaches us python programming. There are 3 types of exam like CAs, mid-term, end-term.The exams are moderately difficult. Most students pass if they study consistently, but every semester a small percentage struggles, especially in technical papers.
Interview Experience
No, i didn't have to face neither GD nor interview in the admission process. But I heard that some specialized courses has certain interview rounds. There are no interview for majority of the courses.
Night Life
The nightlife around my college is quiet but lively in its own way. While the campus itself has certain restrictions on timings, students always find ways to unwind after a hectic day of classes. Common rooms and study lounges remain open till around 10:00 PM, which is where a lot of group studies and casual hangouts happen.
Other Applied Colleges
Lovely Professional University - [LPU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
This is very prestigious among many of the private institutions. I appeared in the entrance exam and grab a good marks. On the basis of my my marks i got decent amount of scholarship on my tuition fees. That is the main reason.
