Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very relevant and comprehensive to the new and upcoming trends. It focuses on application based teaching and real-world problem solving skills. However, the duration between the tests are short and might be an issues for somone who is interested in extra-curricular activities.
Internships Opportunities
There are some internship opportunities provided by the college, however it is advised that one grabs an internship on their own. With the skills and knowledge one gains through their semesters, he/she can easily crack internships.
Placement Experience
The branch B.E (Cyber Security) was started 3 years ago is yet to have their first placement as the first batch of this department is in their 3rd year (6th Sem). The overall placements are decent for a college of this tier.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure for B.E courses through KCET and COMEDK are around 1.5 lakhs/yr and 3 lakhs/yr respectively. However, the Management fees vary with each branch. For the year 2024, B.E(Cyber Security) management fees was 6 lakhs/yr. Hostel fees is also about 1.5 - 1.6 lakhs/yr. There is a slight concession for merit holders. This fees structure is with respect to the year 2024-25, there is a high chance of increase in the upcoming years.
Campus Life
The social life in college is very subjective. The support from the management is very less for various cultural activities. However, there are many events, tech talks and other academically driven events that takes place frequently. The CyberSecurity department hosts such events very often. Othewise, the campus is not that great.
Admission
I got into this college through COMEDK, I had applied to several other colleges but received a seat here. The admission process was fairly simple, as instructed in the COMEDK website. One must keep in mind that the fess stated by COMEDK is not final and there might be some additional charges at the college.
Faculty
It is an Autonomous Institute affiliated to VTU, hence the syllabus is almost similar to that of VTU. They conduct 3 IA and 1 Sem-end examination each semester, where all 3 IA are compulsory. The faculty are educated and well versed in their domain. Especially the Cybersecurity department hosts, amazing faculty who are very supportive.
Night Life
Usually all the day-scholors leave for their homes or PGs, the only student body present at the college campus are the hostellers. Thier curfew is around 8.30pm. Hence the night life is mid. The lighting in the new amphitheatre brightens the atmosphere at night.
