Course Curriculum Overview

The course is best for the student who wants to pursue P.hd and become professor, it mainly focuses on academic research. The course does provide valuable knowledge but if you want to join corporate, it might not be the best choice .

Internships Opportunities

there was not many internship oppportunities available. the company mostly provided full-time job opportunities. as a result, students often need to seek internship independently through personal network or online platforms.

Placement Experience

From the very first semester, the college has brought in companies for placement such as deloitte with an average package of around 5 lakh, then there was KPMG as well , Techno Electric and few others, but there where limited no.of position.

Fees and Financial Aid

M.Com program at Calcutta university is a two year course. The tuition fee is approximately Rs 1200 per year. In addition, there is a one-time admission fee of around Rs 800.There are variety of scholarship based on merit. In the first year, every student receives the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship of Rs24000. For the second year, if you score above 60 % you become eligible to renew the scholarship. Additionally, students belonging to SC/ST categories may be eligible for other government scholarships based on there category and financial needs.

Campus Life

The campus has a good vibe ,the students are friendly , the faculty members are helpful , ready to provide guidance whenever you need. there is a large library with variety of books available all time.

Admission

This is the best university for Master in commerce in kolkata and extremely affordable, the scholarship amount covers your entire course fee and have good reputation regarding placement.I have only applied for this college and luckily got selected. The other colleges have much higher course fee.

Faculty

In commerce department, the faculty-to-student ratio is approximately 1: 35. the faculty is well-qualified, with many prof holding doctoral degrees and various research experience. the prof i appricate the most is Dr. Siddhartha Sankar Saha.

Night Life

The campus is beautiful with large garden,british style old building, a historic area renowned for its vibrant academic and literary atmosphere. the unversity encompasses multiple campuses across the city each offering unique blend of heritage and modernity.

Placement Experience:

After 2nd year students are eligible for placements Deloitte and pwc only these two companies visited our campus and the highest they were offering was for 4.2 lpa. The placement was in the basis of their own exam and interview.

Honest review of CU as a B.Tech student of ECE

I had applied to JU and GCECT, GCELT. I was accepted in GCECT and GCELT for CSE and other brances but opted for CU ECE because of its reputation and future scope. I didn't clear the cutoff for JU Instrumentation. To get in the college one must clear the wbjee exam and follow through the councelling process. Deep Dive into your true College Experience at SXC Kolkata

i applied to the National University of Singapore where i got admission in the Economics course but had to take back my offer due to personal reasons. moreover i tried for colleges in Delhi University however my score wasnt adequate for the college i wanted for economics so i had to stay back in this college which otherwise was my choice over any other college. the admission process here is rather tedious, you have to get your registration form for this college signed by your school principal with your picture and get that along with all other original documents during the document verification day, eligibility i believe includes the presence of mathematics at any cost. the cutoffs here go pretty high, especially for economics, calculated on a maths+best of 4 basis out of 200....Read More

Perfect campus for economics student

Admission process are very simple. Generally entrance exam was conducted for admission but I took admission just after COVID so I didn't give any entrance exam. But cutt off was very high. At least 70 percent marks in graduation are mandatory to take admission in this university on the merit basis. Application form are generally found on University official website in August.
