The true side of JIST

The curriculum is based on old knowledge which needs to be improved and thr frequency of classes should be increased. The examination is fine and it's easy if we attend classes. Teaching methods can be improved once we have a good infrastructure.

Yes the fees is increasing it's almost 6000-8000 per semester. They also charge 1600-2000 as examination fees. Yes govt scholarships are provided for which you have to apply separately. There is no merit based scholarship

Tech fest was last done in 2019 and after that this year it was conducted. There are many clubs such as robotics club ncc and many more for our social life but it lacks in many ways because the campus is based on the old science college

To get admission in this college we need to clear the Common entrance examination also known as Cee conducted by the Assam Government every year. I took admission in this college because I got a seat based on the marks

Faculty members are good and has knowledge but due to lack of infrastructure the teaching methods are lacking. They conduct 3 exams which are knows as Class Internal Evaluation which is of 20 marks each and best of 2 are considered for internal marking and one final exam known as end sem is conducted of 80 marks. If we fail is a subject then we can reappear the subject in an odd semester as a backlog subject

There is no gym in the campus has only one small cafeteria which can't be called as cafeteria and has hostels for both boys and girls which requires development. The last time to enter hostel is 7:00 p.m. The locality is not safe to roam at night as it's near highway and rainforest because of which many animals are found inside our college campus
