Course Curriculum Overview

5

The lab for mechanical department particularly is very good. They have a ton of machines however first year students are made to do everything by hand so that they learn. Exams are held twice in 1 semester. The difficulty is okayish. 70% comes from PYQs and rest is new.

Internships Opportunities

4

A decent number of internships are available. There are a ton of startups happening within the college which require interns and they take first and second years as interns. Average stipend is 15k+ which is quite good considering first and second year students

Placement Experience

3

The placement is great for top branches with average above 20LPA but as the branch goes down, the package decreases. The average of mechanical is somewhere around 11-12LPA but this is when there are 400-500 students in mechanical!

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees increase every year with 10-15k Currently I pay 2,25,000/- tution fees with 54000/- for hostel and 34800 for mess. There are a ton of scholarship oppurtunities like DTU's own scholarship where around 300-400 students get 50%, 75% or 100% tution fee waived off depending on their financial situation. Dell Aspire scholarship is also available where student gets a laptop and hostel, mess fee paid by them.

Campus Life

5

There are a ton of socities. Name any hobby, you have a society for it. They are active as well Fests happen all around the year. Since it is in Delhi, you won't have trouble in having a good social life! The metro is very nearby the campus. 10Rs Rikshaw takes you to station

Hostel Facilities

2

The first year hostels are MISERABLE! No AC, very small rooms and you have to live with a person even if you're not comfortable with him. The mess food is okayish. They serve chicken/paneer twice a week. Hostels are better from second year onwards with an option for AC hostels

Admission

I was getting Production in NIT kurukshetra but I chose DTU mechanical since it is very well known. It is equivalent to IIT Delhi's mechanical as people say. DTU is in delhi, so travelling and overall life is good. NIT kurukshetra was too isolated

Faculty

5

The faculties are highly qualified! Many offer research oppurtunitues under them to students. Lab faculties are very knowledgeable and are genuinely interested in teaching. There are a few professors who don't teach but i believe every college has some of them.

Night Life

4

Library closes 9:30pm. Inside campus is very safe to roam around with guards present in most of places. Girls have an in-time for 11pm and they have to mark attendance otherwise their parents are called. Boys can roam around even after marking attendance inside the campus. There are guards who don't let you go outside the campus after 9pm

3rd and 4th year students are eligible for placements, less students from 3rd year Amazon, google, atlassian visited this college, less offers for high packages Highest packages are 1.3cpa, 95lpa and also there are some packages over 50lpa Lowest are 3lpa, in mass recruitment people get 3-4lpa In 2022, placement numbers are good, but in 2023 2024 less placement offers as compared to total students My plans are try to find off campus placement, but also sit in on campus placement
