Likes
- The campus is very beautiful with lush green trees river side and it is a vast campus with 780 acres of land.
- The sport complex is large enough it is more than 25 acres we have a separate cricket oval which organisers good sporting tournaments throughout the year and indoor badminton courts.
- The clubs and activities for students are very good opportunity for them to explore new talents in them as these clubs organised events throughout the year and I also love the cultural fest which is Bitotsav that happens in March every year
Dislikes
- I do not like the laboratory because the equipments are old and there is shortage of some modern equipments.
- The attendance policy is strict and many professors do not give any concession to students.
- The quality of the best food in some of the hostels like hostel 3 is not very good.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very relevant in most of the modules but at some places it's seems to be outdated. For example the coast structure of basic electronics is very well design and deals with all the modern aspects of electronical engineering. The student does not need to worry about not being up to date with the modern aspects of engineering because the teachers here are very up to date and if the students co-operate then they take extra lectures to teach the students about the modern day inventions. the difficulty level of the exams varies as per the subjects. Overall we can see that the exams are not very difficult but scoring marks in papers like physics and electrical can get tough at times.
Internships Opportunities
The internship is given at the campus by visiting companies. All this is taken care of by the training and placement cell. Companies like Amazon ,Google, ITC do offer internships here As I am in the first year I have not done many projects but I have done several assignments like the nuclear magnetic resonance in chemistry. This assignments for useful for me to understand some key concepts of engineering.
Placement Experience
The students are eligible for the campus placement in the final year (7th semester). The placements offered are decent with 18 lacs being the average for computer science and my branch chemical engineering has the average of 8.5 lpa . Large number of companies pay a visit around 100 companies which includes large companies like ITC, Cognizant, Zomato etc. The placement was 78% this year. Highest placement ratio was in the mechanical department which saw placement of 85% students. The highest package offered in the campus placement was rupees 31 lakhs by cognizant to a student of the computer science branch. I plan to set in the campus placement in the last year and then after working for 2 or 3 years I want to pursue an MBA.

Campus Life
The campus life here is very vibrant . Frequent refreshment programs like the DJ night ,music night etc or organised by the clubs. We have a take fest known as Pantheon which happens in the month of October. The annual cultural fest happens in the month of March which is known as Bitotsav. Many other events or organised at the club level like drama knight is organised by my dramatic club, the finance club invite speakers like Abhay Mitra on trading issues. Recently the co founder of LensKart was an alumini BIT Mesra visited us. Inter hostel tournaments are organised in all the sports for boys and girls. The annual athletic meet is also organised in which students from all campuses of BIT Mishra in the country that is BIT deoghar BIT Lalpur and BIT Jaipur participate. An annual cricket tournament of the technical institutes of East India known as the Devraj memorial cricket tournament is organised . The classrooms are well equipped with projectors, large blackboards ,comfortable foldable seats and ACs. There are total of 33 clubs which focus on variety of talents the students may have like photography ,acting, speaking ,trading this clubs and activities are a very good way of exploring the potential of the students and their also help in grooming the personality of the student. I am a member of the dramatic club and it has helped me to understand myself better and my weaknesses and strengths in different art forms of drama which include mime, stage play, nukkad musical skits. There are clubs like Robolution club for robotic enthusiasts, the Srijan club for formula car lovers.
Hostel Facilities
The first year student are provided a double sharing room . The size of the room is small. We are given and Ethernet connecting point and 24 hours Wi-Fi at most of the pieces in the campus. The room is well furnished with tiles and a tube light chair table fan. The quality of food depends on the hostel one lives in. In my hostel which is hostel 3 the food is not so good but in the hostel for the second year and third year students like hostel 6 and hostel 7 the food quality is very good. The menu of the hostel is divided by the students itself. The students elect miss committee members who decide these things. Postal registration is done at the time of the admission itself you have do not have to go anywhere else. The hostel is very affordable as for the first semester it is 20000 and in the last year it go 28000 per semester. Living in the PG is not a good idea as you will be missing on many of the events like the DJ night organised in the institute and PGsare not available close to the institute as the institute is 10 km away from Ranchi City.
Admission
•BIT Mesra was obviously not the first choice for me. I had applied for top five NITs in the country but I could not get them. So then I accepted this college because it is an old college with decent placement and the infrastructure and curriculum is better than many of the new NITs. •I was not selected in the top five NITs but I made it to the bit because I had the home state quota. I could not make to the other colleges due to a lot so good rank in JEE. • The admission into my college is done through the JOSAA and CSAB counselling. A person must have applied for the JEE mains exams to sit into these counsellings. A general category student from India can get the computer size branch under the rank 18000 to 20000. The overall admission experience was very hectic and it took almost a day.
Faculty
The student to faculty ratio is 15:1. And some of the faculty is very good they are young and very approachable to the students. The physics department is very strict regarding the marking criteria and attendance policy. Our maths teacher Dr Abhinav Tandon is a very great person and he is a very knowledgeable person who makes maths very easy for the students. His notes are very crisp and concise and easy to understand. The basic electronics teacher Ruchika Mishra is a very dedicated teacher and she caters to all the problems of the student. I do not like the physics department because of their strict behaviour. Regular test sem exams are taken at the institute. First of all there is quiz one within 2 weeks of the start of the semester . Itcontains 10 marks. Then a mid semester examination of 25 marks is conducted in one month period. Then if the faculty wishes a quiz to is conducted or the faculty give us an assignment for 10 marks. 5 marks are in the hand of the teacher which he or she can give on the basis of some assignment or attendance or class behaviour. At the end of 50 marks and semester examination is taken. The grading system for 1st year students is relative.
Night Life
There are two gyms provided to the boys which are present in the sports complex . These gyms are equipped with all the modern equipments. The gym for girls is present in their hostel itself. We have two major shopping complexes in the campus.A Nescafé Store is also present. Several food trucks and juice corners are also present here. Boys can roam about in the campus at anytime for girls they must enter in the hostels at 9:00 p.m. Exit from the campus after 10:00 p.m. is prohibited for everyone without prior information. Entry to the campus is allowed at all times. The famous hangout places in the campus include the inner cooperative area, the river side, the polytechnic park , and the Chotu dhaba. The security as that the campus is very good and it is fine to roam around in the campus at night as everywhere is under the surveillance of CCTV cameras and guards are there at all places.
