- Our Auditorium, that can host over 5000 students in one seating, is one of the biggest in ASIA and has an amazing vibe to it
Dislikes
- Didn't like the mess food, felt that it's quality sometimes is bad and it gets monotonous after some time
- the teachers and faculty. Some of them are not very supportive of students pursuing other interests apart from studies
- a few hostels at bits hyderabad smell very very badly because there is a dumpyard nearby which causes foul smells at night
Course Curriculum Overview
i personally love physics and electronic circuits is something i was always passionate about, so i chose electrical engineering. The curriculum prepares you for real world applications like if you want to be a software engineer. bits pilani's degree holds significance if you want to pursue higher studies. i believe that the course curriculum should involve extra co curricculum in it for overall growth of the student. exams happen every 2 weeks and they are a moderately difficult to crack
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities at bits are very very good, with companies like amazon, nvidia, google and also multiple startups coming for internships, offering all kinds of roles in finance, non tech, tech and non core, core projects and outcomes are given to the students under our practice school system to better equip the students with knowledge and experience
Placement Experience
After your 3rd year you become eligible for campus placements almost everyone here at bits gets an offer from 1 company, the most notable ones being oracle, amazon , google , nvidia etc etc. Highest package is 1CR+ average is 19 lakhs CTC almost 90% of students get placed I want to pursue entrepreneurship after this degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fees at bits is about 6.5 to 7 Lakhs per year including hostel fees and everything. Registration fees is 50000 and the tuition fees is about 2-2.5 Lakhs per semester. There is merit and merit cum scholarship for students whose family income is less than 15 lakhs per annum. for merit scholarship you require 9+ CGPA/
Campus Life
the overall experience of campus life is great, with excellent facilities all around. there are 3 major fests, that is arena, pearl and atmos which are our sports fest, cultural fest and technical fest respectively, they are held typically in february, march, and november respectively. bits library hosts the most amount of books out of any colelge in hyderabad, with a 2 storey library and books on every subject that you want to read sports and extra curricular activities are also there, with excellent sports facilities. student run clubs and departments like dosh, dope, dopy, dora are there to manage fests and events
Hostel Facilities
in the hostel rooms, there is a table, chair, bed and an almirah for storing your stuff mean quality is okay, menu changes every month in the mess hostel registration process happens every year and it is slightly expensive but affordable still. i didnt rent a room or PG, nor does anyone here at BITS Have to
Admission
I chose BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus because: 1) no reservation 2) 0 percent attendance policy 3) BITS Tag and strong alumni network I was getting admission in colleges like iit kharagpur, guwahati and roorkee, mostly civil or chemical and that was confirmed but i chose bits because of the above said reasons. i did get rejected from iit bombay and delhi. The admission process of bits starts with the student giving bitsat, bits aptitude test. Eligibility is 12th pass and over 75% in boards. cutoffs are minimum 200 out of 390 if you want a seat in the lowest branch. the course most preffered by students is computer science of CS, the cutoffs for computer science are the highest generally
Faculty
Faculties are very approachable and chill. faculties are about 1 for every 40-50 students so the ratio is okay-good. I liked madhavi jha of humanities department and parikshit sahatiya sir of the electrical department, believe they are the best faculties as they understand students without ego and are very down to earth. all faculties are ok only no one is that bad that i didnt like them. There are 2 exams per semester apart from quizzes, midsemester exams and comprehensive exams, they are fairly doable and not difficult to pass. less than 3-5% students fail to clear the exams.
Night Life
favourite hangout spot for me is new acads, that is beautifully built and maintained. students after a day of classes usually unwind by eating their favourite meals at the all night canteen or the eateries at bits, like pleasant restaurant. there is no intime for hostels, but intime for campus is 10:30 pm favourite hangout places outside include tandoor and chipotle, and yes it is safe to roam around at night
Other Applied Colleges
IIT Roorkee | Civil
Loved BITS Pilani's 0% attendance policy, and the no reservation policy. Also the bits pilani alumni network is very strong and I wanted to pursue Electrical Engineering
