Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum of MIT, Manipal is quite relevant for the industry but it still lacks in some aspects. The frequency of exams is quite evenly spaced. The first month of the sem is usually almost free for the students to explore what they like. After the first month the assignments commence and after that is the Midsem Examination.

Internships Opportunities

4

JP MorganChase has offered internships for the Software Engineer Programs for the Summer Internships The stipend is not revealed as of now. There is also opportunity for Internship by Flipkart for women only. These include Pre-Placement Talks/ Online tests/ Group Discussion and Interviews

Placement Experience

3

Students are eligible for placements from the 6th semester and from the 4th semester for internships. Microsoft, JP Morgan, HP, Samsung are some of the companies that visit the college every year. Around 60% people get placed each year from my branch. Highest package is usually 51 LPA and average is around 12 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am from Computer and Communication Engineering pursuing B.Tech. My Course fees for the 1st year was 3,20,000 INR and at the same year my Hostel fees was around 180,000 INR as it was a double sharing air conditioned room. For the 2nd year Course fees is 5,08,000 INR and is same for 3rd and 4th year. Hostel fees for my 2nd year is the same as the last one. Aound 15,000 INR is taken as caution deposit, Mess fee is around 50,000 which is already included in the Hostel fee. For the scholarships one can get by ranking in the top 5% of the branch which gets you a 20% scholarship off the Course Fees

Campus Life

5

TechTatva, Manipal Entrepreneurship Summit, Revels are the 3 major fests and events that take place each year with Techtatva usually taking place in October, MES in February and Revels in March. The availability of books and journals is very good as one can straight up go to the Library Portal to get them online. Student Projects are a great way for students to learn new skills and get exposure. The clubs of MIT also provide par exposure and skill development opportunities.

Hostel Facilities

4

The room is cleaned twice in a week by ZOLO cleaners. Wi-fi facility is provided with the data speed cap of 15mbps. Good furniture is provided in the rooms along with bucket and mug and even an umbrealla by ZOLO. Mess Food is good and there is a Month End special Meal also. Registeratiob for Hostels usually depends on the CGPA or MET Rank for freshers.

Admission

I applied for JEE Mains, Advanced, BITS Pilani and VIT Vellore. I chose this college as I messed up my JEE Examinations and BITS Examination. As for VIT, their restrictions on students made me stick with MIT, Manipal. The admission process is pretty simple, you register for MET Phase 1 or 2 or both as per your discretion. MET counselling is after ranks are declared and it goes till 5 rounds usually

Faculty

3

The faculty to student ratio in MIT, Manipal is around 1:20. The faculty is extremely approachable and co-operative and usually try their best to resolve doubst and reschedule classes as per the students' convenience. Atleast I can say that for my faculties. There are usually 5-6 exams in Midsems and Endsems which are from Medium-Difficulty to Hard. Still not that hard to get a good score

Night Life

4

There is a Large Sports Complex named Marena which is maintained by MAHE itself which provides great gym facilities for cheap prices. Hostel Timings for First Years is 10:30 pm which is extended to 11:30 in Second Year. The campus timing are just 30 minutes prior from the Hostel Timings for the respective hostels. As for the nigh life, there is nothing much for Hostel Students due to the timings.

Placement Experience:

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
