Remarks

This is the first ever Women's college in India and played an important role in Independence movement. It has a glorious history and its previous students Kadambari devi, Mrs. Chandrmukhi they were one of the glorious women of India. The only negative remark about college is the washrooms should be clean and more hygenic.

The course was divided in 3 years. And the subject was divided in 4 subdivision, those are Organic, Inorganic, Physical and Analytical chemistry. We have theory part and practical part. Every year during month of February different companies visit our campus. Some of them are TCS,Wipro,Webel etc.,these multinational companies mainly come to recruit in their BPS Domain. And they give stipend of nearly 10000 rupees.I got selected for TCS and joined the company immediate after my exam and got a stipend of 10250 per month.

College Events

4.5

The main event is Alaap, the cultural fest,it is conducted during winter every year. And there are also some other events like Brikharopon utsab,Rabindrajyanti , Independence day celebration,Bethune death anniversary ,Anandmela etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As it is a government college,so fees is very less compared to other colleges. We had to pay 110 for every month. This includes library fee, tution fee, sports fee, magazine fee, examination fee and there are some other payments we have to pay for exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

The scholarship giver by CSIR is Inspire scholarship, the minimun criteria to get this scholarship is to get good marks in Higher secondary and secondary exams and have to get minimum 60% in BSc exam. The other scholarships are Indira Ga dhi Single Girl child scholarship, Vivekananda Scholarship etc.

Campus Life

4

Labs are very good and well equipped. There are 4 labs for chemistry,3 labs for physics.and there are also specific labs for botany, zoology, biochemistry , computer etc. There is a sports room and also a gym.Students participate in various extracurricular activities like dance singing recitation photography drama etc. They also represent our college in different intercollege competitions.

Hostel Facilities

4

College doesn't have any hostel facility but there re many paying guest accommodation in that area and that includes home delivery of foods.Rate of paying guest varies from 2000-6000.The infrastructure is quite good.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes there are specific alumni groups for every subject and every year they arrange a reunion.Seniors are also very helpful and there are some pages groups in social media where we can contact with them.

Admission

After the admission procedure started,I applied for BSc in Chemistry, and then i paid the application fees in the bank, after that I got a chance to attend the first counseling as I was able to secure position 18 in merit list, then after counseling got selected for the course and paid the tution fees and from the next day classes had started.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty is very helpful, there are all total 8 professors, but I think we need more Physical chemistry and Analytical chemistry faculty.Organic and Inorganic faculty are very good and they are all well qualified and more over they are disciplined and the best techers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was well-structured, and each semester, there were projects and presentations that also helped to test our knowledge. I got influenced as the curriculum provides us with financial economics, political economics, and Applied mathematics. The level of the exams was decent, related to the course. They could improve in teaching more practical knowledge and projects related to that, instead of only learning in a theoretical way.

Placement Experience:

Placements and job oppurtinities are less since this is an undergraduate college offwering honours degree. Though there is a placement and career councelling cell that looks over this matter. Placements are offered only in a few subjects, such as industrial chemisrty and computer science. The rate of placements are very high and come with high packages. Though I am not interested in placements, but I have started taking preparations for compititive exams. Such preparations are very supported here, rather than jobs and placements.
