Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is flexible and depends entirely on professors. some professors know it will be hard for students and take students feedback and adjust topics for exam appropriately. classrooms have projectors and most proffesors make proper used to tools for teaching. curriculum focuses on fundamentals of the subject and if interest students can dwell into new technologies in that field. mid sem exams are 1.5 hrs while end sem exams are 3 hrs. most papers can be done within the stipulated time. some papers might be time consuming and made in such a way that the best can complete it.

Internships Opportunities

4

most companies that come for internship come for placement as well. if u get an internship in a good company there is a good chance of it being a PPO (best case scenario). notable companies are Google , Nvidia, Qualcomm, Goldman sachs, some tata companies, infosys, oracle, flipkart, amazon,

Placement Experience

3

there is the CDC (career development centre) that handles placements. they invite companies for recruitment. notable companies are Google, Uber, Nvidia, Texas insturments, Bosch, goldman sachs, oracle. most companies take 1-10 people based on their needs. there are usually 2 rounds (skill based test and HR interviews). around 90% of Cs students get placed. Texas instruments gives a CTC of 38 lakhs(can vary based on roll and year). I am trying to get placements and land a role in an electronics company such as Nvidia , Texas, ARM, Qualcomm . having a good CGPA is very helpful, there is the student build college site (IRIS) which provides guides and reviews from seniors about each companies and their exams, how they prepared for it etc. placement season is a hectic time where u r tensed till u get a company. Due to the current economic and political situation of the world the placements have been affected.

Fees and Financial Aid

each semester is roughly 30k for hostel + mess[establishment charges 8100, maintenance 3690, mess advance 22000], and 62250 rs for tuition fees (normal) and lesser for SC/ST and other categories. There are few scholarships provided whichs specifics i dont know and are shared in college groups upon joining

Campus Life

5

i had a balanced life of studies and enjoyment. you get very good internet in hostel so i have been playing games pretty often. there are also libraries and computer labs for students to use for studies. there is 2 main festivals in college- INCIDENT is the culutral fest and happens during the month of March, it is the more populare one which a lot of food stall and top artists (sunidhi chauhan, pineapple express, some DJ's). college is lively during this time. ENGINEER is the technical fest that is in the month on NOVEMBER focusing on technical stuff(robowars , hackathons etc). there is a lot of facilies for sports (make friends and play). there are student clubs that also host events. they have reached level such that McDonalds and KFC also come to campus and setup stalls for their events.

Hostel Facilities

3

hostel registration is done online. from third year you have single rooms (1 cupbaord, 1 table, 1 chair, 1 fan, 1 bed). hostel food is decent. CHoose mega mess when u can because it is a big mess that provides good food, and no suffocation as it is big. only drawback is it is vegetariand (have chicken from night canteen). Non veg messes provided chicken 2 times a week and chicken biryani (mid) on sunday. there is water filter provided at each floor of the hostel

Admission

This was the best college i could get with my jee rank. so i chose it, i was also interested in electronics. also location of college was convenient for me for travel to home. to get National Institute of Technology Karnataka u need a really good score in JEE (easier said than done), reservation also play a role whether u get your prefred college. there is also luck involved in the paper that u got for your mains. with a rank below 10k you can get this college. higher the rank better the branch you can apply for. If you are from karnataka u get home state quota which can help u get better course for the same rank

Faculty

4

usually 1-2 profs take classes. they last for 55 min. class timing are from 8 to 12 with a 5 min break in between. we have a 15 min break from 9:50 to 10:05. we have a class slot from 1-2. and lab usually from 2-5 (some branches have classes). these are the slots and u will have around 4 hrs of class a day(maybe less or more). most courses are chill with attendance. usually there is 0-2 quizzes, 1 mid semester evaluation and and end semester evaluation(40-50% weightage.) faculties can be seen in the college site. some notable proffesors in ECE department are Sumam David, T. Lakshmanidhi. All professors are well qualified and will guide you as long as your are interested in learning and willing to take criticism. some subjects can be tough and are like that. if you fail a subject and make up exam is condected where you need to score 20/100 to pass (you wont get good grade if u have make up)

Night Life

3

night is cool, gym closes at 8, there are night canteens (yes they are non veg) that operate from 7pm to 1 pm. we also have an app to order from night canteen and they deliver to your hostel building. Swiggy is also available but you have to go to college entrance to collect food. ther is canteens such as - Nandini(near hostels), Amul(near sports ground), Nescafe(near hostels).

Other Applied Colleges

Indian Institute of Information Technology [IIIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electronics & Communication Engineering)

NITK has better brand value

National Institute of Technology - [NITC] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Mechanical Engineering)
