I like our class time because in our zoology department there was regular class taken by our sir and mam

Course Curriculum Overview

the specific aspects of the curriculam that influenced my decision is that the subject combination which is not offer by other college . the areas for improvements in the course curruiculam is more focus on practical knoledge

I have paid almost 15000 thousand Rupees for total 3 years per year i have spent 5000 thousand rupess. I have applied sc scholarshhip , and i got select and get 5000 thousand rupees every year total 15000 thousand rupees

Campus Life

in our college , there is no placement procedure but one thing i want to mention that they were conducted some seminar in our college for more information in carrer growth in other field. i have attended 2 seminar.

Admission

i have applied for admission in 2 college . one is Sovarani memorial college and other is ramsaday college i got admission in sovarani memorial college because there is good subject combination so i decided to join smc college.

Faculty

In our college the faculty to student ratio in between 20:1. all the faculty is good to their student. the name of the faculty which is my favourite because he is our zoology department sir suresh mondal

Night Life

in our college there is no caffe and cantein . no gym . there is no hostel and campus in our college times there are some places outside our college for short destination tour which is near about 15 km

Placement Experience:

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

Placement Experience:

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

My experience at St. Xavier's

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course theory helps us gain a solid understanding of the subject matter. Film studies and Mass Communication theory classes has laid down the foundation of the subject- from what is a shot and the kinds of shots and angles, to the beginning of radio in India and essays by CS Pierce and John Berger. The course also includes practical classes in the sound labs, editing labs and we will learn to use a camera, as one of the things we will have to do in this course is make films of our own.

Placement Experience:

Our college has a very active placement cell that fetches jobs for everyone who needs and deserve it. The highest package was 24 lacs per annum last year and it is only expected to go up this round almost all students to set for placements are placed but in my department specifically most opt for higher studies like myself.

The college offers good placements for economis. Students in their final year are eligible for campus placements and there is a cell dedicated to placements. Many students do not opt for placements and go for higher studies but many students who opt for it, get placed with decent packages. Many well-known companies visit the campus as well. We have a placement cell helping students get placed. They keep posting opportunities like internships and fellowships throughout the year to groom students and give them exposure and experience. Placements can go to very high packages like those in Data Science, Big 4 consulting or core finance or banking jobs. CAs, CFAs and FRMs do well in the placements. The highest packages could surpass 12-13 LPA and median packages are close to 6-7 LPA. DE Shaw, Zomato, Myntra, Meesho, TCS and McKinsey are some top companies coming here.

i applied to the National University of Singapore where i got admission in the Economics course but had to take back my offer due to personal reasons. moreover i tried for colleges in Delhi University however my score wasnt adequate for the college i wanted for economics so i had to stay back in this college which otherwise was my choice over any other college. the admission process here is rather tedious, you have to get your registration form for this college signed by your school principal with your picture and get that along with all other original documents during the document verification day, eligibility i believe includes the presence of mathematics at any cost. the cutoffs here go pretty high, especially for economics, calculated on a maths+best of 4 basis out of 200....Read More

Perfect campus for economics student

Admission process are very simple. Generally entrance exam was conducted for admission but I took admission just after COVID so I didn't give any entrance exam. But cutt off was very high. At least 70 percent marks in graduation are mandatory to take admission in this university on the merit basis. Application form are generally found on University official website in August.
