Course Curriculum Overview

5

Its a law school. The courses are designed that way. Its neither hard not easy. Typical. I always wanted to pursue law so I chose the mentioned course after my 12th. The curricular prepares us for various legal and law related stuffs like litigation etc

Internships Opportunities

3

Internship are generally done by Guwahati High court or some senior lawyers. Students need to do mandatory internship under a sitting judge or a senior lawyer. Stipend is usually under ?10000 and students going for litigation isn't paid

Placement Experience

4

As its a law school. Students either go for litigation or give AJS Grade III after completing of the courses. There's no direct in campus placement. But Guwahati High Court, District Courts, CJM Courts are among the top recruiters

Fees and Financial Aid

Admission and course fee : 13000 Tution Fee : 2000 Campus Development Fund : 1500 Union Fee : 500 Library Fee : 500 Festival Fees : 300 Total Amount : 17800 per semester Gauhati University Registration : 4500 No direct scholarship from college. Eligible Students can apply for Ishan Uday Scholarship

Campus Life

2

The college and campus life is boring. No co curricular activities happen inside the campus. There's no function or fest. We are told only to study nothing else. The gymnasium is permanently closed. There's no place to play any games

Admission

As there's only a few law school in my city. I chose JBLC as it was the best choice for me. I didn't choose GU as the classes are very infrequent. And I didn't chose the BRM Govt Law College as its very bad compared to rest of the roaster

Faculty

3

There are almost 40 faculties. As its a law school, there's only law courses including 5 year BA LLB, 3 year LLB and LLM. Admission is taken via a direct written entrance. Final exams are conducted by Gauhati University every semester. Sessional exams are conducted by the college itself under GU guideliness

Night Life

1

As our college doesn't have any hostels and is strictly a day school. There's no nightlife. When the classes are over at around 4PM, the college itself closes. Every other thing is open from 10AM to 4PM

Other Applied Colleges

Gauhati University - [GU] | Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Laws [B.A.L.L.B.]

The classes are very infrequent

as the batch size is very less ( 60 students) most of the students opt for higher studies and judicial services and very few students go for placements and internships. the univerity call some law firms but very few come due to location. but students get paced by their own hardwork.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was interested in this field as it's a very interesting field as we get to know a lot of different cases and problems which are shut down from our daily life. However in my course of time , the curriculum that we have is not helping us to be prepared for our future practice as the faculty members don't have great knowledge of what they are teaching as well as we are not provided with any specific notes. We are not even given assignments which will make us active more.
