JB Law College, Guwahati : A fairly decent law school in Guwahati

Likes

The teachers and the faculties are really awesome
The non teaching staffs are very good and polite
The students are really amazing. They're jolly

Dislikes

The canteen is absolute dog shit. Foods are not even edible
There are no co curricular activities in the campus
Very poor infrastructure. Toilets don't have water

As its a law school. Students either go for litigation or give AJS Grade III after completing of the courses. There's no direct in campus placement. But Guwahati High Court, District Courts, CJM Courts are among the top recruiters

WHY YOU AS ASPIRING LAWER SHOULD CHOOSE J.B. LAW COLLEGE. A GENUINE REVIEW.

Likes

The teachers are very friendly and teach very enthuchistically.
Proper attendance record is maintained along with the proper dress code.
College canteen provides a variety of food options starting feom simple tea to full meals including non-veg options.

Dislikes

The college campus is comparatively small and there is minimum place to walk around.
The college doesn't have any sports or physical activity curriculum. This is a big issue as physical wellbeing is as important as academic wellbeing.
The college authority is very inefficient in providing notice when the teacher is unable to take the class. And the management is not good at regularly cleaning the washrooms.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This is one on the most highly appreciated cources one can perusue gor a life of honour. B.A.LL.B course is easy but has very high returns of a secure future. After this course one can go for becoming a judge by given AGS exam or practice as a professional lawer. One exam is heald every semester,i.e., theo exams every semester. The exams are easy and can easily get passing marks if studied regularly.

Likes

The positive things about our college is very good academic environment.
Teaching stuff is very supportive and well trained
The teaching stuff have great knowledge about their respective subjects.

Dislikes

Infrastructure should be more developed.
We don't have any student union body to represent us.
We don't have any Air conditioner. During summar it cause problem

Likes

There are many things about the college which I like for example the teaching staff are very good .
Another things is a good academic Environment.
The college campus and canteen is so clean and hygienic .

Dislikes

The Infrastructure Should be more devloped.
There are no AC in Classrooms and during Summer it causes a lot of tension
There is no college union in for which there os no transparency

Great Future.

Likes

I love the campus , the campus is totally clean and tidy.
I also love the classrooms as classrooms are totally wide in length.
Washroom and toilets are also totally clean and hygienic.

Dislikes

I hate the college securities ,as they show their attitude towards students.
I also hate the point where we have to stay in the class if there is no teachers at classrooms if the teachers don't attain the class than also we have to stay in the class.
I also hate the teacher who takes us sociology, even saying him to teach us in English but he used to teach us with Assamese only.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I rate this institution totally full. Cause everything is totally fine. My intention for taking this course is to know more about the laws and their practices, and to serve the people to gain justice .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The content included in the course aligned with the outcome Im looking for as a student of the law background but as a suggestion the difficulty level of certain subjects was hard to deal with and could've been introduced earlier. Subs like Jurisprudence could be introduced earlier. Also, the exams held by the college are very fast and preparing for it we don't get enough time. So they could look into it.

An honest confession

Likes

The teachers with time does get friendly and helps us in ways that they can
We can approach the office for enquiry anytime we want to and we are guided if we face any difficulty.

Dislikes

We don't have proper good food in the cateen. We have to eat the canteen food which is made with lots of oil and isn't healthy too.
We have good subjects but we don't have regular classes. We sometimes have to wait for 2 hours doing nothing just because a teacher doesn't want to take a class.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was interested in this field as it's a very interesting field as we get to know a lot of different cases and problems which are shut down from our daily life. However in my course of time , the curriculum that we have is not helping us to be prepared for our future practice as the faculty members don't have great knowledge of what they are teaching as well as we are not provided with any specific notes. We are not even given assignments which will make us active more.
