Entrance Preview
I got admitted in ASSAM ENGINEERING COLLEGE through CEE. I got 130 marks out of 300 and i opted for CHEMICAL ENGINEERING. Actually my JEE MAINS rank is not good to get into the NIT'S. So instead of getting into the coaching centre and wasting a valuable one year, I decided to take admission in AEC. The admission procedure is very simple, students were called according to their marks in the assigned counselling day. The documents are verified thoroughly and if any discrepancy found in the entire process the admission is forfeited. It takes place in a very well organized manner.
Course Curriculum Overview
Till now according to my speculation, the course is outdated which needs to be reformed. The scope of research is far behind as the sophisticated instruments needed are not available and the instruments which are available are also in a very severe condition. The faculty members are highly qualified but a few of them are dedicated to teaching in a true sense.
Internships Opportunities
The internship experience was really nice. Our group of ten students had done the internship at CIPET, GUWAHATI. We got to learn many new topics and practically handled the instruments. The stipend was Rs 2000.
Placement Experience
The placement scenario of AEC overall is good. But the placement of CHEMICAL branch is not going well. Last year 5 or 6 were only placed out of 60. Max cement recruited them. The salary was around 25000.
College Events
The annual festival is the PYROKINESIS which is organized with a huge budget in the massive pyro ground. Famous singers of Bollywood were the main attraction at the final pyro night. Apart from it technical program UDVABANAM are also celebrated before the PYROKINESIS.The participation of students in the programs is also from other institutions.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I lived in a PG. The fees i paid is rs 5000 and the food i get is not upto the mark.
Fees and Financial Aid
I had applied for NEC SCHOLARSHIP but I didn't get it.There are several other scholarship for the freshers batch such as ISHAN UDAY.
Campus Life
The gender ratio is very high as we have around 12 girls out of 60 students.
Alumni/Alumna
The experience that I gathered with the passed out seniors was of immense importance. I get to know various job opportunities and how to get prepared for the interview during the recruitment procedure.
