What Students Say

Likes

College campus is nice,clean and big.it also has gym and swimming pool.
College is great at education and it is tier 1 college.there is no ragging
For sports it has badminton court, table tennis, basketball, volleyball. Every hostel has indoor sports

Dislikes

There is reservation for Kerala students,so Kerala has more students than every other state students
Here girl to boy ratio is 3:1 , not Many girl are here
It has activate point system which is very bad

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is good it has renewed two years ago. It has core and technical both course in curriculum It is nice but some course are not important Exam are 2 or 3 hours examination it is moderate examination

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 125000 per year

Placement Experience

Students get eligible at seven or eight semester to be on campus placement. Companies like nvidia,intel other company Is also visited Highest package is 50 lpa and average package is 18 lpa Students above 7 gpa are eligible for campus placement

For income more than 5 lakh total 4 year fee is 6,64,000/- For income 1 to 5 lakh total 4 year fee is 3,34,000/- For income less than 1 lakh 4 year total fee is 1,15000/- For income less than 1 lakh hostel fee is 0/- For other students 76000/- year fee

Campus Life

Social life at our college is very good. Our college has two fest one technical fest Tathva and one culture fest ragam. Ragam is South India's biggest culture fest Faculties use presention and online quiz too. There are many clubs which is very good

Hostel Facilities

Hostel room is 3 people sharing. One bed,one table,one closet for every student. Meal quality is not bad and not good. Sometimes message food is very bad and sometimes good Everyone can get in to hostel easily It is affordable hostel.

Admission

I applied to nit Trichy, warangal,surathkal etc. Because of my rank in jee mains I got this college It not bad college but other nits are better It is still tier 1 college and good college to got admission

Faculty

Faculty is very nice and there are enough facilities I almost like every facilities they are good at teaching and guiding There two exams in every semester midterm semester and end semester exam Both are moderate to difficult level examination

Night Life

Our campus has Gym, swimming pool, three canteen,one central library,oat etc. There are hostel a,b,c,d,e,f,g and mega boys and girls hostel Locality is safe for frist year hostel cur few is 10 pm and other hostel don't have cur few

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

CSE student at JEC

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.

I chose this college because of strong reputation , good placements and quality of education. I applied to other NITs and state engineering colleges and received some admissions,but selected this college because I preffered Electrical Engineering. Details Of NITC

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. Life at NITC by Vimosh Kumar

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
