Remarks

Manipal is a student town and there are all sorts of people around you. There are Indians, there are Koreans, there's no such thing as discrimination. There can be bad influences or good influences, you have to choose your friend group and your path. This college will definitely lead you to greatness if that's what you want.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is updated regularly and is at the same wavelength as the current status of the subject. The subjects for the 1st year range from Electronics to Biology to English to Mechanical sciences. The courses pertaining to a particular branch are taught 2nd year onwards. Also, there are 2 important things, Program Electives and Open Electives. Program Electives are basically the subjects you can choose to study and which are related to your branch. Open Electives are subjects which are from all the other branches and you can choose any one that you might be interested in.

Internships Opportunities

The college provides research lab experience in the winter break and the summer break to willing students. The professors give letters of recommendation to students and also help them in getting external internships.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement and job opportunities are plenty as many companies come for campus placement. Also, since it is imperative that a student does at least 2 internships, it is possible that that particular company might give you a full-time job. Also, if you're not looking for a job, you can do your higher studies in the very same college.

College Events

4.5

The college has 2 main fests, Tech Tatva and Revels. Tech Tatva, as the name suggests is the technical fest of the college where various colleges come to take part in RoboWars, Formula 1 car design etc. There is also this event called Conclave where famous people are interviewed, for eg: Radhika Apte. Revels is the cultural fest and the college gets famous artists and celebrities for nights of fun. This year we had The Local Train, Atul Khatri etc. Also, the various clubs of the college conduct mini fests from time to time.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is slightly on the higher side but it is worth it. The course fee was 2.85 lakhs per annum when I joined. It might go up to 3.25-3.5 lakhs per annum based on the branch. The hostel cost varies according to the type of room. My room was a Double AC with an attached bathroom and it cost 1.2 lakhs per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

I do know of one scholarship the college gives. It is for those people whose mother tongue is Konkani. There is a 10% waiver on the fees for the said person if they have a language certificate. Also, there is a scholarship for students who get ranks 1-100.

Campus Life

5

There are many clubs in the college ranging from Literary, Debate and Quiz Clubs to Acting Clubs to Dancing clubs and Singing Clubs. There are student chapters for almost all the branches too. We have many student projects going on like SolarMobil which is a solar car and a project for Mars Rover. Labs are well equipped. Sports has a huge following in Manipal and the college has teams for football, cricket, swimming and more.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel infrastructure is very good and the caretakers and wardens are very helpful. There is a common room where friends can get together and play carrom or just talk. There is also a TV room and a gym. In my hostel in the 1st year, we had a basketball court and a badminton court. Also, there is a night canteen in my current hostel which serves food until 2 am.

Alumni/Alumna

The college keeps track of the alumni so that the current students can contact them easily in case of placement opportunities or internship opportunities. Also, sometimes the alumni are called to give the students a talk to guide them for the future. The seniors are very helpful and nice and there is absolutely no ragging in MIT.

Exam Structure

There are 3 examinations held. Two of them are sessionals and are for 15 marks each. These are usually held 1 and 3 months after college starts. The final end semester examination is for 50 marks. The remaining 20/100 marks are given to you after you submit assignments. The assignments comprise of open book tests.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of the college are very knowledgeable and helpful. There is a Teacher Guardian scheme in the college. One teacher is in charge of 4-5 students for everything. It might be studies or extracurriculars or just talking. Also, the professors encourage you to read and publish research papers and work in the lab with seniors.

They fake a lot of their placements....now the bangalore campus currently has 40%placements but they fake the placement rates to make it look like its 80 or 90% which is sad...i heard that if u have really bad marks and couldnt get placed(a lot of ece and eee people, cause they will purposefully try to fail u so that u can apply for the couse again) they will make u sign a document were u agree u never sat for placements.

Placement Experience:

Students at RVCE become eligible for campus placements typically from the seventh semester onwards. Several reputed companies visit the campus for recruitment, offering a wide range of job opportunities to students. Some of the prominent companies include Infosys, Wipro, TCS, IBM, and Accenture, among others. These companies make a significant number of job offers across various profiles, including software development, consulting, and research. The highest package offered varies from year to year and can range from ?10-20 lakhs per annum, depending on the company and the profile offered. The average package generally falls between ?4-8 lakhs per annum. The percentage of students getting placements varies, but RVCE has a consistently high placement record, with a significant majority of students securing job offers during campus placements.
