Course Curriculum Overview

5

I would rate the course curriculum of 9/10. In my schooling I always had an interest in space technology and I wanted to pursue it through computer science and help in research of the planetary positions in our Solar system. I considered this course as a bridge to my dream. The teaching in this course is very good and some improvements can also be made. Instead of adding credit less subjects which are theory based they can include some coding related languages and prepare us for our upcoming future. They can make us run the code using our own laptops which can be of great impact on students. The exams taken in this college are actually moderate and can be attempted by preparing question banks and given notes by faculty. The time given to write the exam is also sufficient to attempt the whole paper even in semester examinations.

Internships Opportunities

5

According to our seniors the internships provided are moderate and you can choose the companies where you want to do the internship. They collaborate with several companies like wipro and accenture. The stipend is provided moderately within 2 to 3 months of internship. It is of 7000 to 8000 rupees with no extra fee taken. I have done some online internships and courses with ybi foundation which are provided free of cost and they taught required assessments with detailed explanation. The college encourages students to take up courses and internships which help in increasing the value of your resumé in interviews.

Placement Experience

5

The placement opportunities are available in our college and there are 18 out of 25 students that are placed in reputative companies with decent packages. The placements start from second semester of 3rd year or they can start them from the first semester also. TCS, accenture, wipro, Infotech etc are some of the main companies that have provided and are providing jobs with decent packages to the students. 25 percent of our seniors have been placed in these companies and the highest package is of 32 to 18 lakh per year. The lowest package is of 3 lakh per annum. The average package offered by the companies is of 5 lakh per annum. 75 percent of students have been placed in average. My plans after getting the degree is to attain a job in TCS company with a decent packages of atleast 5 lakh per annum. After that I will continue my studies by pursuing mtech in any nit college of choice.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees I paid as a management student is 1.6 lakh. This is the tuition fees along with admission fee and registration fee. The library and lab fee is also included in this. The exam fee is taken per every semester of 2000 rupees. My batchmates who joined through councelling have paid 48000 per year in which the college covers 35000 rupees as scholarship provided by the government reimbursement. The library fee is separated from the fee and is of 10000 rupees. They have reduced the amount for management students based on IPE percentage and jee main percentage. The councelling students have merit based admissions and the course selection is also based on their TS-EMCET and JEE percentage.

Campus Life

5

The overall experience of campus life in this college is peaceful and joyful. There are events conducted every 3 to 4 months, sports are held every 2 months and there are fests of 2 to 3 per year. The annual events are conducted 1 or 2 per year. There are technical fests like techveda and hackethons conducted by our seniors with exciting games and dance performances, skits and interactive questionnaires. There are traditional days for sankranti, ugadi, holi and other festivals where the students dress up elegantly and they participate in all festive activities. The national holidays are provided and flag hoisting is done by the principal or the head of the department respectively. Sports fests take place with 2 to 3 months and the football team of our college has secured 1st place atleast 4 to 5 times. Cricket matches, volleyball and throwball, Kabaddi, kho-kho matches are also conducted. The badminton tournament takes place with other colleges and the students compete with each other with positive mindset.

Hostel Facilities

5

The campus hostel facilities are comparatively good. They provide security and good food to us students. Ground is available for students to play or jog in the mornings and evenings, stationary and other requirements are also provided inside the hostel. In the room there is locker and a desk provided to the students. The racks are spacious and you can store valuables without any fear. The beds are a bit small but they are soft and easy to sleep. There are two washrooms provided one for bath and other necessities. The food is also good mainly the breakfasts are delicious. The registration process is not a tough process as they ask to choose a room and bed of our choice. In my opinion the hostel is affordable compared to a room taken outside by rent. The other documents are already provided for the admission process in the college. In my second year I shifted to PG in the college locality. The rooms are a bit small but everything is provided perfectly. The balcony and terrace view gives you peace after a stressful day in the college. The surroundings are not noisy and are kept clean making a good choice to stay.

Admission

The applied to SRM and VIT colleges but I didn't acquire required percentage in those exams. I also applied to some pondicherry colleges as it was based on nativity and my parents didn't allow to join in those colleges. I attempted EMCET exams and got a decent percentage in those exams. The admission process for this college is simple. You can apply directly by visiting the college admin office or u can make a call to the number mentioned in the college website. There are no admission tests taken for joining this college. It is mainly based on the percentage you acquire in IPE, JEE or EMCET exams. The cutoff percentage varies from course to course and for cse it is of 50 percentage of marks in competitive exams and minimum 75 percentage in IPE exams. It is also based on caste division and mostly it is supportive to SC and ST caste.

Faculty

5

The faculty members of each subject and computer languages have good communication skills and they explain every topic easily. We can understand half of the subject by listening to their lectures and other half by preparing the notes provided by them. For every subject there are atleast four to five faculty. Based on their availability and schedules each faculty is assigned to a particular class. Sirisha mam of cse department who teaches c language and data structures and other languages for our seniors is my favourite faculty as she approaches every student and she clarifies doubts without any issues. Best faculty members of cse department are from Java and python languages. They are very experienced in their subjects and they teach every important topic related to the subject. There is no particular faculty whom I dislike but there is a faculty member for English Subject. I don't actually know her name but she is a senior faculty and she shoes superiority with students and is rude to most of them. The mid exams are conducted within the period of 1 or 2 months. And the semester exams are taken in 5 to 6 months from the start of that semester. They complete the syllabus without delay and the difficulty of the exams are moderate. 18 percent of the cse students failed in previous semester exams. The course curriculum is good according to the academic syllabus they provide.

Interview Experience

5

There is no admission test for joining the college. They consider the admission by merit based on competitive exams and IPE examination. They ask questions related to your overall percentage and attendance percentage. You need to fill in the details required for the admission in the given form and apply in the admin office.

Night Life

5

The favourite hang out spot is the canteen where they supply all types of snacks and drinks. Me and My friends always stay to chit chat and have some quality time with eachother. The library is also a good place to hangout but by maintaining silence. You can read or reasearch any topic for the whole day if you have permission from the library incharge, who is a friendly person and lets you stay for any amount of time. There are many cafes and stalls outside the college and the food there is very good and they maintain clean surroundings. The hostel timings are basically strict and every student should be inside the hostel before 4:30 pm after the college ends at 4:00 pm. No student is allowed outside the hostel without the outpass given by the warden, it is given after making a call to any one of the parent and a valid reason. The food provided in the hostel is good and the rooms are cleaned everyday. The locality is actually safe to roam as it is surrounded by private hostels totally.

It should be improved in the teaching methords and conduct more workshops so that it'll be a practical experience for students to learn best. Jntu correction scheme is very strict.

During 3-1 , we get only one internship i.e JPMC offering 75,000 per month which is of 3-month internship. Thhis year it took around 16 students. through coding round, hire vue interview and the hackathon process. I was selected to hackathon but sadly due to communication skills lack, I was not selected as intern , although I passed coding round, hire vue interview and entered hackathon. From 4-1 onwards we get placement oppurtunities like Deloitte, Chubb, oracle, DE Shaw, etc companies visit and offer good package only.

The best part of the college is its placement of the college. Almost all companies visit the campus, including Google, Microsoft, Adobe, and almost all. The average percentage of the college is around 85 percent. In Chemical engineering, the placement is a little bit, it's around 90 percent. I'm planning for placements on the Software side.

The course curriculum is accurate and relevant as well. This helps the students to have good knowledge and grip on current scenarios, and it also helps to survive and get placement.Tge frequency of the exams is 45 or 50 days each. And it is not so difficult because the faculty teach in a proper and understandable way in which the students can understand and attempt the exams .
